On December 20, 2023, the Vietnamese joint stock auction company continued to hold an auction for car license plates with nearly 7,000 license plates. Compared to previous car license plate auctions, this morning’s auction had a significant decrease in the number of license plates that were bid for over 1 billion VND, although many quadruplicate license plates were publicly auctioned.

There were three quadruplicate license plates that fetched the highest bids on December 20th. The plate 37K-299.99 was sold for 1.28 billion VND, the plate 18A-399.99 sold for 1.105 billion VND, and the plate 37K-277.77 sold for 1.045 billion VND. It can be seen that two quadruplicate license plates from the province of Nghe An had high winning bids.

Additionally, there were a few license plates that sold for over 1 billion VND, such as the plate 30K-689.89 which was bid for 1.06 billion VND. One of the highest bids was for the plate 14A-868.88. These license plates all have a common characteristic of starting with lucky numbers, such as 6 for luck, 8 for fortune, and 9 for longevity.

The most interesting part is that the “Rồng Sảnh” plate 61C-567.89 from Binh Duong was sold for only 705 million VND. It is likely that this plate belongs to a commercial vehicle, so its popularity has decreased compared to other plates with the same number combination (567.89), which were sold for extremely high prices, such as the plate 38A-567.89 from Ha Tinh for 1.6 billion VND, the plate 19A-567.89 from Phu Tho for 2.705 billion VND, and the plate 30K-567.89 from Hanoi for 12.5 billion VND.
