Despite the expiration of the government’s upfront fee discount, Honda City still receives a nearly 60 million VND promotion.

In January 2024, the Honda City is being offered with 100% waived registration fees for the G and L trims, and 50% waived registration fees for the RS trim.

Starting from January 1, 2024, the 50% registration fee reduction program for domestically manufactured and assembled cars by the Government has expired. However, there are still some models of cars that are granted a 100% registration fee reduction by the manufacturer to stimulate pre-Tet shopping. The Honda City is one of them.

According to the recent announcement by Honda Vietnam on January 2, 2024, the City model will receive a 100% registration fee exemption for the G and L versions. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line RS version of the Honda City will be granted a 50% registration fee reduction. This incentive will be applied based on a 10% registration fee.

The Honda City currently has 3 versions: G, L, and RS, with corresponding prices of 559 million, 589 million, and 609 million VND. With the manufacturer’s registration fee exemption, customers who purchase the G and L versions can save between 56 – 59 million VND when completing the registration procedures. The corresponding amount for the RS version is 30 million VND.

Not only that, Honda Vietnam also offers 1 year of body insurance for customers who purchase this B-segment sedan. The conditions for the promotion are that customers must sign a vehicle purchase contract and complete 100% payment procedures from January 5 to January 31, 2024.

The Honda City is currently one of the most expensive B-segment sedans, second only to the Volkswagen Virtus. Therefore, in the less active Vietnamese car market, Honda Vietnam continuously runs promotional campaigns for this model to maintain sales.

In 2023, the City continued to be the best-selling car of the Honda brand. In November 2023, Honda sold 884 City units to Vietnamese customers, an increase of 17.7%. Accumulated over the 11 months of 2023, the Honda City achieved a sales volume of 8,391 units, ranking 3rd in the B-segment sedan category, after the Hyundai Accent (14,700 units) and the Toyota Vios (10,499 units).

The Honda City has many competitive advantages such as a strong brand, sporty design, spacious interior, and full safety equipment. Specifically, the car features the standard Honda Sensing active safety system, which includes 6 features: Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Automatic High Beam (AHB), and Low-Speed Follow (LSF).

In addition, the car is equipped with LED headlights, power-adjustable/folding side mirrors with LED turn signals, 16-inch alloy wheels, leather seats/steering wheel, a 4.2-inch multi-information display, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-speaker audio system, and automatic air conditioning.

Furthermore, the Honda City is highly regarded by many people for its driving experience. The 2023 Honda City retains the same engine, a 1.5L i-VTEC 4-cylinder petrol engine with DOHC, producing a maximum power of 119 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and a peak torque of 145 Nm at 4,300 rpm. The engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
