Introducing globally since June 2023, the compact luxury SUV Lexus LBX has officially “landed” in Southeast Asia.

The Lexus LBX is developed based on the TNGA-B platform of Toyota, similar to the Yaris Cross. This is also considered the luxury version of the Yaris Cross.

In terms of size, the 2024 Lexus LBX has a length of 4190 mm, a width of 1825 mm, and a height of 1545 mm, along with a wheelbase of 2580 mm. Compared to the Toyota Yaris Cross, the Lexus SUV has a longer wheelbase of 20 mm. With its small and lightweight body, the vehicle weighs only 1,280 kg.

Lexus LBX features a modern design while still retaining the distinctive characteristics of the Japanese brand. The front of the vehicle stands out with a new elongated shape grille, accompanied by a hexagonal grille. On both sides of the front grille are compact headlights, combined with daytime running LED lights in the shape of an “L”. The two headlight clusters are connected by a glossy black strip, forming a dividing line between the hood and the grille.

The body of the vehicle is shaped by strong and sharp lines, expanded at the wheel arches and narrowed at the center, creating a widebody structure. The wheels will have sizes of 17 – 18 inches and the design will vary depending on the version.

At the rear, the 2024 Lexus LBX features LED taillights surrounded by a continuous strip of lights that extends across the width of the tailgate. Below this light strip is an embossed “Lexus” emblem instead of the brand logo.

Inside, the cabin of the 2024 Lexus LBX stands out with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9.8-inch infotainment screen, a head-up display, interior accent lighting, USB Type C ports, wireless phone charging, a short gear lever, and an electronic parking brake.

This compact SUV is also equipped with a 13-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, along with a subwoofer. The luggage compartment volume of the Lexus LBX 2024 is 332 liters for the front-wheel-drive version and slightly lower for the AWD version (due to the addition of a rear electric motor).

The new Lexus LBX is also fully equipped with advanced safety technologies, including automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and traffic sign recognition.

The heart of the Lexus LBX is a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 1.5L 3-cylinder gasoline engine, generating a maximum power of 91 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 120 Nm in the range of 3,800 – 4,800 rpm. The engine is combined with a powerful 80 horsepower and 141 Nm electric motor. Combined, the vehicle has a maximum power of 136 horsepower. It is also equipped with a 4.3 Ah lithium-ion battery, an E-CVT automatic transmission, and either front-wheel drive or e-Four all-wheel drive.

All versions of the 2024 Lexus LBX have MacPherson front suspension, while the rear suspension is a torsion beam for FWD models and a double wishbone for e-Four AWD models.

The selling price of the Lexus LBX in Southeast Asian markets is still undisclosed. In Japan, the price ranges from 4.6 – 5.5 million Yen (approximately 805 – 962 million VND).
