Mazda’s Large Product lineup includes 4 SUV models: CX-60, CX-70, CX-80, and CX-90. Among them, CX-60 and CX-90 are already available for sale in North America and some other markets, while CX-70 and CX-80 are planned to be launched next year. According to a document sent to the California Air Resources Board (CARB), CX-70 will have a similar engine configuration to CX-90.
In the U.S., CX-90 is distributed with 3 hybrid engine options, including both HEV and PHEV. The HEV versions have a turbocharged 6-cylinder inline gasoline engine with a displacement of 3.3L combined with an electric motor. CX-70 will also be available with a plug-in hybrid engine option. On the CX-90, this system includes a 2.5L I4 gasoline engine combined with an electric motor and a 17.8kWh battery pack for a power of 323 horsepower and a torque of 500 Nm.
All versions of the Mazda CX-70 are equipped with 4-wheel drive. Unlike the CX-90, the new Mazda CX-70 will be sold in various markets including Europe, Japan, and Australia. Details of the CX-70’s price have not yet been confirmed, but experts believe that the listed price of this SUV model will be around $38,000 (about 924 million VND), about $10,000 (243 million VND) higher than the CX-50.
