Wuling Hongguang Mini EV is one of the most successful electric cars in the world, having sold over 1 million units in just a few years. The appeal of this model lies in its cute design, spaciousness for 4 adults, and compact size for maneuvering through crowded Chinese streets. What sets it apart is its affordable price, making it one of the cheapest cars in the country.
After 3 years since its introduction, the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV is finally being officially sold in Vietnam, becoming the cheapest car on the market. However, the sales of this model in our country have not met the distributor’s expectations, prompting dealerships to quickly launch attractive promotional programs. The fastest way to reduce the price is through cash discounts, starting at 5 million VND, 10 million VND, and 15 million VND, and at the end of November, the discount reached 30 million VND, and recently, dealerships have even reduced the price of the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV by 40 million VND.
This discount applies to all 4 versions of the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, and for the first time, this Chinese electric car is priced below 200 million VND in Vietnam. In fact, the post-discount price of the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV is only about 40 million VND higher than the Honda SH350i scooter.
Not only in Vietnam, but also in its home country, the sales of the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV have also been declining. This is due to the fact that many other automakers have entered the market with small and affordable electric cars. As a result, the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture had to release an upgraded version with minor design updates, a fast-charging feature, and increased range compared to the previous model.
The Wuling Hongguang Mini EV currently sold in Vietnam is equipped with only one electric motor, producing a maximum power of 17.4 horsepower. The car can reach a top speed of 100 km/h, but in reality, the optimal speed is around 60-80 km/h. Furthermore, this Chinese electric car has a range of 120 km to 170 km on a single charge, equivalent to the distance from Saigon to Vung Tau.
