Recently, a fierce fire broke out with a Tesla Model Y on a highway in the United States.
Accordingly, at about 23 o’clock, this Tesla Model Y collided with another car on the highway in Autauga County (USA). After the accident, the battery compartment of the Tesla caught fire fiercely.
Upon receiving the report, the authorities quickly arrived at the scene. After several hours of firefighting and 136,000 liters of water, the fire brigade was able to control the fire from this electric car.
Not only facing difficulties when the electric car’s battery continued to catch fire after being extinguished, but the smoke from the burning electric car also produced highly toxic Hydrogen fluoride and Hydrogen Chloride gases, which greatly affected the firefighting process of the authorities.
Fortunately, the driver of the Tesla Model Y only suffered minor injuries after the fire. However, this person has been temporarily detained by the police for further investigation into the cause of the accident.
This is not the first time a Tesla electric car has caught fire. Earlier this year, another Tesla Model S unexpectedly caught fire on the highway. Afterwards, the authorities also had to mobilize over 22,000 liters of water to extinguish it. Or in another fire incident with a Nissan Leaf EV, it took 170,000 liters of water to control the fire.
