McLaren GTS will officially debut next year as the new generation grand tourer from the brand, possessing the power of a supercar but with a smooth and comfortable driving experience suitable for long-distance journeys.

McLaren GT was launched in May 2019 as the first grand tourer model from the British carmaker, aiming for a gentle and comfortable sports driving style. After 4 years, McLaren continues to introduce the successor to this model, named McLaren GTS.

This supercar is equipped with a twin-turbo V8 engine, with a capacity of 4.0L, producing a maximum power of 626 horsepower, an increase of 14 horsepower compared to the McLaren GT. In addition, the new GTS is also only 1,519 kg, nearly 10 kg lighter than the previous model.

According to the manufacturer, McLaren GTS takes only 3.1 seconds to accelerate from 0-96 km/h and 8.9 seconds to accelerate from 0-200 km/h. The top speed of the car is up to 327 km/h.

McLaren GTS is developed based on a monocoque chassis made of carbon fiber to optimize the weight of the car while still maintaining the necessary rigidity. Accompanying that is an intelligent adaptive suspension system with the ability to adjust the ground clearance quickly according to operating conditions.

“The new McLaren GTS brings an unprecedented combination of the sports character of a McLaren supercar, along with the practicality of a basic grand tourer. When you want to experience true supercar driving, the GTS will deliver that. Not only that, the GTS is also the ideal companion to bring a relaxing experience on long journeys” – Michael Leiters, CEO of McLaren states.

McLaren GTS is currently available for reservations and the company has stated that the first cars will be delivered to customers in 2024. The British supercar brand has not yet announced the price of the GTS, but it is likely to be higher than the $208,000 price tag of the McLaren GT.
