23 supercars and luxury cars seized by Turkish police being used as police cars
Turkish police have recently seized a total of 23 supercars and luxury cars, with an estimated total value of around $3.5 million (approximately 85 billion VND), from a drug lord. The list includes luxury coupes such as the Bentley Continental GT and the Porsche Taycan, as well as sports cars like the Ferrari 458, Volkswagen Golf R, and luxurious SUVs like the Range Rover Sport and the Mercedes-Benz GLS. All of these cars will be equipped with special equipment to become police cars.
According to the Daily Telegraph, these cars were previously owned by a drug lord named Hakan Ayik. Ayik was the leader of the Comanchero Motorcycle gang and has an estimated fortune of about $1 billion. He and 36 other individuals were arrested in Istanbul last month.
The Minister of Interior of Turkey, Yerlikaya, commented on the arrest of Hakan Ayik: “Thanks to the successful operations against organized criminal organizations carried out by our Istanbul Police Department, 23 vehicles have been seized. According to the court’s decision, these vehicles have been handed over to the Turkish police in order to protect the people and maintain national security.”
