The Wuling Hongguang MiniEV is now being offered by dealers with a discount of up to 40 million VND, bringing the price down to just 199 million VND.
With a starting price of 239 million VND, the Wuling Hongguang MiniEV is the cheapest car in the Vietnamese market. However, since its launch in June 2023, this Chinese electric car has not had good sales due to its unattractive design and lack of features that appeal to Vietnamese customers.
To boost sales at the end of the year, some Wuling dealers have implemented various promotional programs for customers. Specifically, at a showroom in Hai Phong, a sales consultant mentioned that customers who purchase the Hongguang MiniEV will receive the car before Tet (Lunar New Year) and enjoy a discount of up to 40 million VND. This discount includes cash deductions for accessories and New Year gifts. The sales consultant also mentioned that the discount policy varies significantly among dealers, with some offering only a 10 million VND reduction and accessories as gifts, while others provide cash discounts of over 30 million VND.
After deducting the discount, the standard version of the Wuling Hongguang MiniEV is now priced at only 199 million VND. This price is slightly higher than some high-end scooter models such as the Vespa GTS Super 300cc (180 million VND) or the Honda SH350i (151 million VND), but it is much cheaper than the manual version of the Kia Morning (349 million VND).
The Wuling Hongguang Mini EV has dimensions of 2,917 x 1,493 x 1,621 mm (length x width x height), a wheelbase of 1,940 mm, and a weight of 665 kg. The high-end version of the car is equipped with projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, Wuling logo with LED decorative strips on both sides, guiding light function, rear fog lights, and 12-inch wheels with 145/70R12 tires.
Due to its small size, the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV only has a cramped cabin with 4 seats and no luggage compartment. The interior features include fabric seats, 4-way adjustable front seats, a 7-inch LCD TFT instrument cluster, 2 speakers, air conditioning, and power windows.
In terms of operation, the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV is equipped with a rear-mounted electric motor, providing 26.8 horsepower and 85 Nm of torque. It is available with two battery options: 9.6 kWh or 13.4 kWh, offering a range of 120 km and 170 km respectively when fully charged.
