Recently, THACO AUTO and BMW have officially introduced the state-of-the-art ConnectedDrive smart connectivity system in Vietnam for the first time.

This is the most advanced digital connection technology developed by BMW, supporting the connection between customers and vehicles through the My BMW application installed on smartphones.

The My BMW application optimizes all the advantages of the ConnectedDrive connection system. It currently has over 10 million users worldwide, with over 2 million daily users and thousands of 5-star ratings on the Apple Store. Through this application, customers can completely manage vehicle information, update software, check status, or control the vehicle remotely. The first vehicle equipped with ConnectedDrive connection in Vietnam is the new BMW 3 Series.

Experience cutting-edge digital features on the new BMW 3 Series

In addition to familiar driving support technologies such as parking assist, automatic reverse with rear view camera integration, the BMW 330i M Sport version is equipped with the intelligent ConnectedDrive connectivity features such as Online Navigation. The BMW map has the ability to understand user habits and predict and suggest the best route to the desired location. Additionally, this feature allows online search for favorite locations on the map, enabling users to create personalized routes based on their daily travel preferences.

The notable addition of the BMW 330i M Sport ConnectedDrive is the upgrades to voice control through the Intelligent Personal Assistant. The virtual assistant on the 3 Series is perfectly compatible with the BMW OS 8.0 operating system, allowing users to easily activate the virtual assistant with the familiar command “Hey BMW.” With ConnectedDrive, users can now view updated weather information, open maps, access applications, look up information, and control basic vehicle systems alongside the ability to control basic vehicle systems.

The ConnectedDrive system also allows users to remotely update software (Remote Software Upgrade). With this feature, customers will always receive the latest versions of the operating system and smart applications to enhance features and improve security.

Premium conveniences on the My BMW application

The “My BMW” application was first launched by BMW in July 2020, replacing the previous application “The Connected”. Since then, the My BMW application has been continuously expanded and optimized based on user feedback.

The interface of the My BMW application was introduced in Vietnam with 4 main tabs: Vehicle, Map, Services & Store, and Profile. Each tab has a separate interface design to optimize features, with an intuitive and user-friendly interface.

Vehicle Tab: Includes information and functions related to the vehicle status, such as displaying technical specifications. The Vehicle tab allows users to remotely control the vehicle, such as locking and unlocking the doors, flashing lights, turning on the fan in the car, honking the horn, etc. In addition, users can track the vehicle’s location online and schedule maintenance and repairs for the vehicle.

Map Tab: Displays map information such as travel plans and route information. Users can easily search for fuel stations, rest stops, and vehicle maintenance locations displayed on the phone screen. Especially, users can pre-search for locations on their phone and send the navigation information to the vehicle through the “Send to my BMW” feature. From there, the navigation data will be automatically displayed on the vehicle’s screen, saving time and increasing convenience during use.

Services & Store Tab: Provides information on maintenance schedules, repairs, and allows users to proactively schedule appointments. Through the Services & Store tab, users can also explore and discover new BMW models.

Profile Tab: Allows users to access their personal profiles, they can configure and personalize information and preferences displayed on the application to suit their needs. Another highlight feature of the My BMW application is the Digital Key, which allows users to use their smartphones or smartwatches as the main key. Owners can share the Digital Key with up to 5 friends and family members.

The introduction of ConnectedDrive and the new My BMW application in Vietnam will mark a new milestone in BMW’s digital customer engagement strategy. Starting with the new BMW 330i M Sport ConnectedDrive, it is expected that the ConnectedDrive system will be equipped in many BMW models in Vietnam in the future. In addition to introducing the ConnectedDrive system and the new My BMW application, customers who purchase BMW vehicles will also receive a standard 5-year unlimited kilometer warranty package. The warranty period has been extended by 2 years compared to before, giving customers peace of mind when using their vehicles and reaffirming BMW’s premium maintenance services quality in Vietnam.
