BMW has introduced an upgraded version of its flagship SAV model, the X7, last year, and all X7 versions for the US market are produced in the US at the Spartanburg plant in South Carolina. The BMW X7 model distributed in the Vietnamese market is also imported from the US.
Here is a video exploring the production process of the X7 model inside BMW’s factory in the US:
Video: FRAME
Like most other car models, the production process starts with manufacturing the vehicle frame. The BMW X7 is developed on the Cluster Architecture platform, which is also used in models such as the BMW X5 and even the Toyota Supra.
The next step is immersing the entire body shell into a primer paint tank to ensure the most even paint color. Here, we can see BMW’s factory using robotic arms to spray the exterior color according to customers’ preferences. The flagship X7 SAV offers a wide range of color options, allowing users to personalize the vehicle according to their needs.
In addition to modern equipment, BMW’s factory still employs human labor to complete the X7 production process.
While there have been rumors that the V8 engine option may be discontinued, the US version of the BMW X7 still comes equipped with an 8-cylinder engine, particularly the BMW TwinPower 4.4L turbocharged engine. The factory also installs the BMW TwinPower 6-cylinder inline engine, with a displacement of 3.0L, combined with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology for the X7.
In the Vietnamese market, the BMW X7 is distributed in 2 versions, which are the BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence and BMW X7 xDrive40i M Sport, with detailed prices as follows:
– BMW X7 xDrive40i M Sport: 6,299,000,000 VND
– BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence: 7,399,000,000 VND
