Starting from January 1, 2024, the government’s 50% vehicle registration fee discount policy for domestically produced and assembled cars has expired. However, many car manufacturers and dealerships have decided to continue offering discounts on registration fees for their models to attract customers before the Lunar New Year. Hyundai dealerships are no exception.
As a result, some dealerships in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Bac Giang are currently running a discount program equivalent to 50% of the registration fee for the Custin model. In Vietnam, Hyundai Custin has 3 versions: Standard, Special, and Premium, with prices of 850 million, 945 million, and 999 million VND respectively. Therefore, the 50% registration fee discount will be equal to an amount ranging from 42 to 50 million VND, depending on the version.

With the promotional program at dealerships, Hyundai Custin will put additional pressure on its direct competitor, Toyota Innova Cross. In the 2 months since its introduction to the Vietnamese market, this Korean model has consistently outperformed its Japanese counterpart.
Specifically, in October 2023, Hyundai Custin sold 324 units, while Toyota Innova Cross sold 143 units. In November 2023, Hyundai Custin grew by 63.2% to 529 units, surpassing the 162 units sold by the Toyota member.
Compared to the Toyota Innova Cross, Hyundai Custin has advantages in terms of size and equipment. The Korean MPV features LED lights, 17-18 inch wheels, power-sliding side doors/tailgate, power-adjustable front seats with heating and cooling, a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 6 speakers, electronic parking brake, dual sunroof, sunshades for rear seats, automatic climate control, air vents for all 3 rows.
