The Geely Galaxy E8 is developed based on the Galaxy Light concept. Previously, Galaxy has introduced two products including the L7 SUV and the L6 sedan, both of which are hybrid electric vehicles.
Galaxy was launched last year as a subsidiary brand of the Geely Group. The Galaxy product line will consist of mid-range and high-end electric vehicles. By 2025, the brand will have 7 models. The third model under the Geely Galaxy brand is the all-electric E8 sedan, which has just been unveiled in its home country.
According to Geely, the Galaxy E8 has a total of 5 versions with prices ranging from 175,800 – 228,800 Chinese Yuan Renminbi (~573 – 746 million Vietnamese Dong).
Geely Galaxy E8 is built on the SEA platform, similar to many other Geely electric models such as Zeekr, Smart, Volvo, and Lotus. The car has dimensions of 5,010 x 1,920 x 1,465 (mm) in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,925 mm.
In terms of design, Geely Galaxy E8 incorporates the design language from the Galaxy Light concept. This is evident in the sleek headlights, low waistline, and long hood. The overall front of the Geely Galaxy E8 provides a modern and stylish look.
Looking at the side of the car, Geely Galaxy E8 has a beautifully designed roofline. The door handle can be retracted along with the sports wheel arches. According to local news sources, the Geely Galaxy E8 has a drag coefficient of 0.199 Cd, making it one of the cars with the best aerodynamics on the market, second only to the Xiaomi SU7.
According to Geely, the safety of the Galaxy E8 must meet the requirements of the IATF standard. The A-pillar of the E8 has a hardness of 1500 MPa. The car has also been tested by CATARC experts and meets the safety requirements of NESTA (NEV Electrical Safety Verification).
Entering the cabin, users are greeted with a modern and technology-filled space. The most impressive feature here is the 8K OLED screen measuring 45 inches with a thickness of only 10 mm. This screen can be connected to a Meizu phone via the Flyme Connect system, and users can play games on this large screen.
In addition, the car is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 processor. The Galaxy Intelligence Driving 2.0 system and the Urban NOA function will be activated this year.
Other notable features inside the Geely Galaxy E8 cabin include the AR-HUD screen, the audio system with 12 Infinity speakers, the wireless charging system, the contoured steering wheel, and the hidden drawer. Other standard features include ambient lighting and panoramic sunroof.
The luggage compartment of the Geely Galaxy E8 has a capacity of 420 liters and the front trunk has a capacity of 53 liters.
The car is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions. The rear-wheel drive model uses a 400V architecture, with a maximum motor power of 268 horsepower (200 kW) and a maximum torque of 343 Nm.
Meanwhile, the four-wheel drive model with dual motors uses an 800V architecture, with a power of 482 horsepower (360 kW), equipped with a high-efficiency SiC electric drive system. The front motor has a maximum power of 165 kW, and the rear motor has a maximum power of 415 horsepower (310 kW) and a maximum torque of 710 Nm.
The Geely Galaxy E8 will be equipped with a 62 kWh and 76 kWh battery, with a corresponding range of 550 km, 665 km, and 620 km. The 0-100 km/h acceleration time of the car is 3.49 seconds, and the maximum speed is 82 km/h.
