Affordable MPV Races with Discounts, Stargazer Clearance Sale Saves Hundreds of Millions

The small-sized MPV segment in Vietnam has become vibrant in the last quarter of the 2nd quarter with a series of different incentives being implemented, with the highest value amounting to hundreds of millions of VND.

Following a relatively slow sales month in April, many small-sized MPV models in the market are seeing promotions with discounts of tens of millions of Vietnamese dong offered by car manufacturers and dealerships. In particular, the models manufactured in 2022 are being “cleared out” through discounts of up to hundreds of millions of Vietnamese dong.

Hyundai Stargazer offers discounts while waiting for locally assembled units

Through an exchange with a Hyundai sales consultant, it is confirmed that the small-sized MPV model from the South Korean automaker is currently being offered a 100% vehicle registration fee discount in June.

In addition, customers who purchase the Stargazer models manufactured in 2022 will also receive additional cash incentives, bringing the total value of the promotional offer to 70 million Vietnamese dong for the Standard version and 80 million Vietnamese dong for the Premium version.

Furthermore, a Hyundai dealership is offering the Stargazer Premium version at a price below 580 million Vietnamese dong, which is equivalent to an approximate 100 million Vietnamese dong discount for this “newcomer” in the small-sized MPV segment in the Vietnamese market.

Prior to this exchange, a sales consultant revealed that the Hyundai Stargazer has been consistently offered incentives since the beginning of the year in order to clear out inventory and await the arrival of locally assembled units.

Similar to many other names in the affordable MPV segment, the Hyundai Stargazer is being imported directly from Indonesia and is distributed in a total of four versions, with prices ranging from 575 million to 685 million Vietnamese dong.

Mitsubishi Xpander offers 100% vehicle registration fee discount

In June, Mitsubishi announced a promotional program that includes a 100% vehicle registration fee discount along with preferential interest rates and one-year comprehensive insurance for nearly all of the brand’s passenger car models.

In addition to the aforementioned incentives, customers who purchase the Mitsubishi Xpander also receive an additional 360-degree camera worth 20 million Vietnamese dong.

With the current listed prices ranging from 555 million to 698 million Vietnamese dong, the vehicle registration fee discount that customers receive when purchasing this small-sized MPV model varies from a minimum of 55 million to a maximum of 82 million Vietnamese dong, depending on the version and registered location.

Through an exchange, a sales staff member confirmed that this program only applies to Mitsubishi vehicles manufactured in 2022. After the price adjustment in late February, the current listed prices of the Mitsubishi Xpander range from 555 million to 698 million Vietnamese dong for a total of four versions.

After the first four months of the year, the Mitsubishi Xpander achieved a sales volume of 5,528 units, making it the best-selling name in the Vietnamese automotive market.

However, the best-selling MPV in Vietnam has seen a significant decrease in sales volume in April, with only 1,084 units sold, 1,204 units lower than the previous month.

Toyota Veloz Cross and Avanza Premio offer up to 32 million Vietnamese dong discount

Tri thức trực tuyến has spoken with a Toyota sales consultant who revealed that almost all Toyota products in the Vietnamese market are currently being offered a minimum discount of 30 million Vietnamese dong in June to boost demand.

For the Veloz Cross and Avanza Premio models, the applied discount is 32 million Vietnamese dong in cash, along with one year of comprehensive insurance.

After being shifted to local assembly at the end of last year, the affordable MPV duo from Toyota will also be eligible for a 50% vehicle registration fee discount when the government’s policy is implemented starting from July.

Currently, the Toyota Veloz Cross has achieved a sales volume of 3,050 units, making it the second best-selling name in Toyota’s product lineup in the Vietnamese market.

This MPV model has 2 versions with listed prices ranging from 658 million to 698 million Vietnamese dong. The listed prices of the Toyota Avanza Premio are more accessible, ranging from 555 million to 598 million Vietnamese dong.

Kia and Suzuki offer discounts of tens of millions of Vietnamese dong for MPVs

As the slowest-selling name in the small-sized MPV segment, the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid AT is being favored with the highest discount in the promotional campaign currently being carried out by Vietnam Suzuki in June.

With a 50% vehicle registration fee discount and a 2-year comprehensive insurance package, customers who purchase the Ertiga Hybrid AT model manufactured in 2022 will receive a total promotional value of 50 million Vietnamese dong. For the manual transmission version, the discount is only 26 million Vietnamese dong.

In June, the Suzuki XL7 is also being offered with a 50% vehicle registration fee discount and a one-year comprehensive insurance package. With a sales volume of 1,024 units since the beginning of the year, this MPV model is the best-selling name in Suzuki’s passenger car lineup in the Vietnamese market.

Meanwhile, the maximum discount of 40 million Vietnamese dong is helping the selling prices of the Kia Carens in Vietnam range from 589 million to 859 million Vietnamese dong. From the beginning of the year, this “newcomer” in the small-sized MPV segment has achieved a sales volume of 980 units, equivalent to an average monthly sales of 245 units.
