Last October, Chinese media reported the leakage of patent images of BYD’s pickup truck model. Recently, a set of disguised spy photos of BYD’s pickup truck has appeared online, providing a glimpse into the basic exterior design of the vehicle.

These images show that BYD’s new pickup truck, although not very large, features a four-door design and seats five people, exuding a confident and powerful aesthetic. Previous reports indicated that the prototype of this pickup truck is being tested, with the hybrid version expected to debut in 2024, while the fully electric variant is set to launch in 2025.

In terms of exterior styling, the front of the new vehicle has a square and rugged design, similar to the patent images and conceptual illustrations seen before. The front headlights embrace a vertically arranged dual LED cluster, surrounded by seamlessly connected C-shaped LED daytime running lights, reminiscent of the Ford F-150’s headlights.

The vertically arranged taillights and extended rear window contribute to a tidy appearance, positioning this new vehicle in the mid to high-end segment of the pickup truck market.

As for the interior, BYD’s pickup truck still maintains the characteristic center control layout of this Chinese automaker, highlighted by a spacious central display screen, complemented by a digital instrument cluster.

It is predicted that the area behind the instrument panel will incorporate a Head-Up Display (HUD) function. In addition, behind the central display screen, there is also an H-shaped module, although its specific function has not yet been revealed.

As for the drivetrain options, the BYD pickup truck is expected to offer both plug-in hybrid and fully electric versions. Previous reports have hinted at potential features, including hydraulic active suspension, rearview mirror streaming, and Huawei’s AR-HUD technology.
