In recent times, the Hyundai Santa Fe has made waves in the global market with its completely new design in the fifth generation. Despite receiving mixed opinions, the midsize crossover is expected to consolidate its position as the “king of the segment” in Vietnam, which it has achieved in recent years.

Recently, Hyundai Motor Philippines showcased and announced plans to launch the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe in the first quarter of this year. This is the first country in Southeast Asia where the Korean automaker introduces the all-new Santa Fe. The first two vehicles in the Philippines have eye-catching orange and green exterior colors.

The Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 was first introduced to the global market in July 2023, featuring a boxy design to replace the previous rounded shape. This style is considered to be quite similar to the Land Rover Defender. The manufacturer explains that this is to provide users with a more practical SUV.

The most prominent feature of the new Santa Fe is the “H-shaped” LED headlights, accompanied by air vents and a square-shaped grille. The grille also has an additional horizontal LED strip that connects to the lighting cluster.

The specific dimensions of this vehicle are 4,830mm in length, 1,900mm in width, 1,720mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,815mm. Compared to its predecessor, the Santa Fe 2024 is 45mm longer, 20mm taller, and has a 50mm longer wheelbase. The muscular body is achieved through wider wheel arches and bulging fenders.

The rear of the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe has caused the most controversy, with many individuals considering it too simplistic and not in line with the vehicle’s boxy design. The LED taillights feature an “H” interface similar to the lighting cluster, but the rear bumper is completely flat without air vents.

Following the general trend of many current models, the new generation Santa Fe also “simplifies” the interior space. The air conditioning vents are horizontally hidden beneath the surface of the dashboard, creating a spacious cabin. Physical buttons have been reduced and integrated into a 6.6-inch touchscreen in the center. The gear lever has been moved to the steering column, creating two additional wireless charging spots for phones.

The center armrest can even be opened from the second-row passenger position. The storage compartment on the passenger side of the front row is equipped with a UV-C device to sanitize items. Other notable features on this midsize crossover include a 12-speaker Bose audio system, dual sunroof, digital rearview mirror, Hyundai SmartSense safety package, etc.

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is predicted by the Philippine media to have two engine options. The first is a turbocharged Smartstream 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a capacity of 2.5 liters, producing a maximum power of 277 horsepower and 422 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with an 8-speed wet dual-clutch transmission and HTRAC AWD.

The other option is a hybrid powertrain, combining the 1.6L turbocharged Smartstream engine generating 178 horsepower and 265 Nm with a powerful 64 horsepower/264 Nm electric motor, resulting in a total output of 232 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque.

There is currently no specific information about the price of the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe in the Philippines, but it may increase due to the addition of new features.

In Vietnam, the Hyundai Santa Fe is the most popular 7-seater SUV, competing against formidable rivals such as the Kia Sorento, Ford Everest, Toyota Fortuner, etc. The current generation is available in 5 different variants and 3 engine options. The listed prices range from 1,029-1,369 billion VND.
