At CES 2024, Mercedes-Benz has brought a lot of modern technology, but the highlight at the German luxury car brand’s booth is the all-electric G-Class version.
Not only that, Mercedes-Benz also brought the EQG electric vehicle fleet to “light up” the streets, demonstrating its 360-degree rotation capability at CES 2024.
Although covered in decals and heavily disguised, it is not difficult to recognize that this EQG model looks exactly like the gasoline-powered version, except for the sealed front grille, square wheel arches, and removed rear exhaust pipe.
This can be seen as a safe move for Mercedes-Benz, as the G-Class design has always been highly regarded, even pioneering the “boxy SUV” trend. In addition, the EQG is also equipped with a few details to enhance aerodynamics, such as specially designed forged wheels and small air vents on the rear wheel arches.
Currently, there is not much information about the EQG’s performance equipment, but Mercedes-Benz confirms that the car will have up to four electric motors with a total output of over 600 horsepower.
In addition, the EQG also has a special feature called G-Turn, which allows the car to rotate 360 degrees in place. This feature will come in handy in situations that require maneuvering in tight spaces.
This electric SUV is predicted to have a range of over 500 km, charge up to 80% in under 30 minutes, and possess all the advanced technologies of the EQ line.
It is expected that the car will be officially launched at the end of 2024. The G-Class lineup will also be supplemented with a mini all-electric G-Class, but the exact launch date is yet to be announced.
