Joining the urban SUV segment with many competitive products, Mitsubishi Xforce faces many challenges as a “latecomer”. However, Vietnamese users still show great interest in this new product, especially customers who have a fondness for the Mitsubishi brand.

Mitsubishi Xforce is imported completely built-up from Indonesia with a total of 4 versions.

At the launch ceremony held on January 10th, Mitsubishi Xforce announced the prices of 3 versions, starting from 620 million VND and up to 699 million VND. The Ultimate variant does not have a price yet and will start delivering cars in June 2024.

So, what is special about the Mitsubishi Xforce Ultimate version? Does the accompanying equipment deserve the wait of Vietnamese customers?

Exterior of the Mitsubishi Xforce Ultimate

If based on the exterior design alone, users will have a hard time distinguishing the Xforce Ultimate from the 2 mid-range versions as the exterior design is almost identical.

A rare identifying point is the radar box located on the front grille, as this is the only version equipped with the active safety technology package (ADAS). Furthermore, this variant has the option of 2 two-tone colors, yellow-black or red-black, while the regular versions only have 1 tone.

Mitsubishi Xforce has a quite attractive and sporty exterior design, suitable for young customers. However, older users may feel that this model is a bit too “flashy”.

The front lighting cluster uses LED Projector bulbs, combined with LED daytime running lights to form the shape of a “T”, which is quite similar to the design style of the Xpander model. Below in the bumper area, there are LED fog lights.

The overall dimensions of the Mitsubishi Xforce (L x W x H) are 4,390 x 1,810 x 1,660 mm, slightly larger than the Hyundai Creta, but its maneuverability in urban areas is not as agile.

The car is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, providing a ground clearance of up to 222 mm, quite large in the B-SUV segment.

The rearview mirror is power-adjustable/foldable, but there is no 360-degree camera.

The rear design is quite muscular, with high recognition.

The LED taillights also have a “T” shape similar to the front lighting cluster.

The Ultimate variant is the only one equipped with a power-operated trunk with a trunk sensor.

Interior of the Mitsubishi Xforce Ultimate

Similar to the exterior, the interior of the Xforce is quite youthful and modern. The car stands out with a fabric-wrapped dashboard, while most other models are mostly leather-wrapped or wood-trimmed. This design style is quite unique, but it is not clear whether it is durable in use.

Mitsubishi Xforce has a wheelbase length of 2,650 mm, slightly longer than the Hyundai Creta (2,610 mm).

The door upholstery has embossed box patterns as decorations.

The steering wheel design is quite similar to the Xpander.

Behind the steering wheel is an 8-inch digital instrument cluster with multiple display interfaces.

The infotainment screen has a size of 12.3 inches and supports wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connection.

The car is equipped with dual-zone automatic air conditioning with air filtration function.

Below the air conditioning vent for the rear seats are USB-A and USB-C charging ports.

Surrounding the gear lever area are the start button, drive mode switch button, electronic parking brake button, and auto hold button.

The Ultimate variant is the only one equipped with a premium Yamaha speaker system.

The seats are leather-wrapped, but only the highest variant has power-adjustable seats. This is an area where the Mitsubishi Xforce is not as good as its competitors.

The driver’s side window has one-touch up/down function.

Below the rear air conditioning vent are USB-A and USB-C charging ports.

The second-row seats are a plus with 3 full headrests, a center armrest, and adjustable recline, promising a comfortable experience for passengers on long journeys.

Engine of the Mitsubishi Xforce Ultimate

Regardless of the version, the Mitsubishi Xforce uses the MIVEC engine, naturally aspirated, with a capacity of 1.5L, similar to the Xpander. Paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive system, this configuration provides a maximum power of 103 hp and a maximum torque of 141 Nm.

Safety features of the Mitsubishi Xforce Ultimate

The safety equipment on the Ultimate variant highlights the active safety technology package with features such as blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic headlights, front collision warning & mitigation, and forward vehicle departure alert.

Compared to the Hyundai Creta, the Xforce falls a little behind in terms of safety systems as the Korean brand’s model has lane-keeping assist. This is a feature that Vietnamese customers prefer, especially for users who frequently travel on highways.

Conclusion

The Ultimate variant of the Mitsubishi Xforce is expected to have a price range of 720-740 million VND. Compared to other competitors in the same segment, this variant does not have outstanding equipment, except for the Yamaha sound system and the active safety package with fewer modern features.

Therefore, the Premium version of the car would be a better choice as it is priced at 699 million VND, slightly higher than the premium variant of the Hyundai Creta (690 million VND), but still equipped with blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert.
