Kia has officially introduced the 2024 Carnival at the Singapore Motor Show 2024. This is an upgraded version in the lifecycle of the MPV model, which was launched globally in October 2023. The showcased version is the Hybrid variant.
In this upgrade, the car has received many refinements in the exterior design, mainly focusing on the front. The grille has been widened, giving the front of the car a more sturdy appearance.
On either side of the grille are newly designed vertical headlights, alongside an improved daytime running light strip in the shape of a “star map.”
The two sliding doors of the 2024 Kia Carnival are equipped with smart electric operation, making it easy for users to enter and exit the car.
At the rear, the backend of the 2024 Carnival is smoother as there are no longer door handles for the trunk. The taillight cluster has also been redesigned to a vertical shape, similar to the headlights. Another noticeable change is that the position of the Kia logo has been moved lower and no longer serves as a divider for the LED strip. The reflector mounted on the bumper seems to be slimmer than before.
The two-tone cabin of the 2024 Kia Carnival looks very sophisticated and upscale.
The central control cluster has been redesigned to simplify it by reducing the number of buttons. The car also receives a touch screen control panel for the air conditioning system, similar to other recent Kia models such as Sportage, Niro, and Sorento.
In addition, we can also see the large curved display cluster similar to the K5 2024 model. This display is a combination of a digital gauge cluster and an entertainment screen. Furthermore, we can see yellow accents on the dashboard.
Other highlights in this area include the convenience of the Ergo Motion driver’s seat and the ability to update software via the Internet while also supporting communication through the “Hey Kia” voice command.
The second-row seats are two independent premium leather seats.
The third-row space has enough room for 3 adults to sit comfortably. Other announced changes include improved shock absorbers to provide a smoother driving experience and additional sound insulation materials for a quieter cabin.
Under the hood is a new 1.6L turbocharged hybrid powertrain, with a combined output of 242 horsepower and a peak torque of 367 Nm. In the Korean market, customers can also choose the familiar 2.2L diesel engine and the 3.5L V6 gasoline engine.
In terms of technology, this MPV model comes with various driver assistance systems including: Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Rear Collision Avoidance Assist, and Highway Driving Assist 2. Along with that are auto-levelling headlights, safe exit assist, lane keeping assist, remote smart parking assist, and rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist.
