The Honda Civic RS 2024 stands out with its sporty appearance, powerful engine, and manual transmission. According to the manufacturer, this version will officially be available on the market in the second half of this year.
At this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon exhibition, Honda brought and showcased the Civic RS 2024 model. Although this is just a pre-production version (prototype), the carmaker said that this hatchback model will be launched commercially in the second half of this year.
Developed based on the Civic Hatchback, the Honda Civic RS is positioned lower than the high-performance Civic Type R in Honda’s product range. The highlight of the car is the front bumper with a sportier design, along with smaller air vents on both sides compared to the regular version. The red RS logo is placed on the grille and trunk, creating accents for the design and helping customers easily differentiate the versions. Moreover, the entire exterior of the Civic RS is painted in glossy satin black, adding a mysterious and sporty look to this model.
Honda has not yet revealed the detailed specifications of the 2024 Civic RS. However, it is likely that this hatchback will be equipped with a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine, producing a maximum power of 200 horsepower.
Especially, the Honda Civic RS 2024 will be equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission. This is a detail that customers are particularly interested in, as the Honda Civic in the Japanese market currently only has a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
In addition, Honda also hinted that the new Civic RS will be fine-tuned “to provide a more enjoyable driving experience,” suggesting that the chassis will be modified to fit the sportier appearance.
