The all-new 2024 Lexus GX has already been one of the most versatile SUVs on the market today, but the new custom version of this luxury SUV is even more impressive.
Lexus has partnered with Japanese tuner Jaos to introduce the GX 550 Overtrail model at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon with a more rugged look. According to the Japanese luxury carmaker, the “Overtrail” version is designed to create a “reliable model capable of tackling the toughest terrains” and demonstrates the potential for customization of the GX model.
Jaos’ custom bodykit gives the GX a more robust and rugged appearance compared to the regular version. Upgrades include a new front bumper, matte black fender flares, steel side steps, and aluminum skid plates at both ends. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a black aluminum Jaos Flat Rack roof rack that allows the owner to comfortably carry additional luggage.
The Overtrail version is equipped with 18-inch Jaos Tribe Cross wheels wrapped in Toyo Tires Open Country A/T III all-terrain tires. Furthermore, the vehicle is fitted with adjustable Harmofleq 2 shock absorbers, which help increase the ground clearance.
Powering the 2024 Lexus GX 550 Overtrail is still the twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 gasoline engine. The engine produces a maximum power of 349 horsepower and a peak torque of 650 Nm, combined with a 4WD system and a 10-speed automatic transmission. The GX shares the GA-F ladder-frame platform with the Toyota Land Cruiser J250, although the Toyota Land Cruiser J250 does not have a V6 engine.
