At the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon, Japanese tuner JAOS introduced a new modification for the luxury SUV Lexus GX550 Overtrail with a focus on improving off-road capabilities.

Japan Off-road Service (JAOS) is a Japan-based company specializing in manufacturing off-road accessories for vehicles. Recently, the company has collaborated with Lexus to launch a new off-road modification for the GX550 Overtrail SUV. This modification is currently showcased at the JAOS booth at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024.

JAOS modifications for the Lexus GX550 Overtrail not only focus on changing the exterior appearance but also improving the performance of the SUV. For an off-road vehicle, protecting the engine and suspension system from the impact of rocks and debris is crucial. Therefore, JAOS has added a 4mm thick aluminum skid plate. Additionally, the vehicle is also equipped with wheel arch moldings and side steps, which not only enhance the SUV’s appearance but also help prevent scratches and abrasions during off-road conditions.

The Lexus GX550 JAOS is equipped with 18-inch Jaos Tribe Cross wheels, paired with Toyo Tires Open Country A/T III all-terrain tires. Furthermore, the vehicle is equipped with adjustable Harmofleq 2 shock absorbers, which increase ground clearance.

In addition, the vehicle is equipped with a black aluminum Jaos Flat Rack roof rack, allowing the owner to comfortably carry additional luggage.

Powering the 2024 Lexus GX 550 Overtrail is still a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 gasoline engine. The engine produces a maximum power of 349 horsepower and a peak torque of 650 Nm, combined with a 4WD system and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Lexus also provides a limited-slip Torsen center differential with a lock for this SUV, while the Overtrail models are also equipped with a rear differential lock.

According to the tuner’s announcement, the Lexus GX 550 Overtrail JAOS has a starting price of $64,250, including a $1,350 shipping fee.
