Talented racer Ngo Nguyen Viet Tuan (nicknamed Su) has recently marked a remarkable milestone for Vietnamese motorcycle racing when he consecutively stood on the podium twice in Round 1 of the FIM MiniGP Malaysia 2023. Previously, no Vietnamese racer had ever participated and won in the FIM MiniGP World Series.

Su started in the 8th position in both Race 1 and Race 2. This 11-year-old racer faced tough competition from 3 racers from Malaysia and Singapore right from Race 1. The positions of the 4 racers kept changing throughout the race. After 18 laps, Su finished in 3rd position, behind 2 racers from the host country.

Viet Tuan finished in 3rd position in both races.

Anh Tuan, Su’s father, shared the achieved goal for Round 1 and set the next goal for Round 2 to be reaching 2nd position. “Su has fulfilled the thirst for international medals for the Vietnamese team with 2 prestigious FIM MiniGP Malaysia medals,” Anh Viet Tuan shared.

In addition to Su, the Vietnamese team participating in the FIM MiniGP Malaysia also includes Ngo Nguyen Minh Tuan (nicknamed Zu). This 9-year-old racer achieved the 3rd starting position in both races, but lack of experience in international competitions resulted in Zu finishing 8th and 10th in the races.

Su and Zu are 2 well-known young motorcycle racers in the sports racing community in Vietnam. Both of them were introduced to professional racing by their fathers at the age of 4-5 with various different types of bikes.

Round 2 of the FIM MiniGP Malaysia will take place on June 18th at the Morac Adventure Park Langkawi racetrack. This round has the longest track of the season, measuring 1.3 km. FIM MiniGP Malaysia consists of a total of 5 rounds, with the final round scheduled for October 15th.
