Thanks to the high and stable sales of flagship products like Accent and Creta, Hyundai has surpassed Toyota to become the best-selling car brand in Vietnam in 2023.

According to the data compiled from VAMA and TC Motor, Hyundai’s car sales in Vietnam in 2023 reached 57,683 vehicles (excluding commercial vehicles), making it the best-selling brand in the entire market. Among them, the best-selling model of the brand is Hyundai Accent with 17,452 vehicles, a decrease of 14,132 units compared to 2022. The second highest-selling model is Hyundai Creta with 10,719 vehicles. In addition, other products of this Korean brand such as i10, Tucson, and Santa Fe also have stable sales and rank well in their segments.

In 2023, Hyundai introduced many new models in different segments, including Stargazer, Custin, and Palisade. These models have attracted the attention of many customers, providing momentum for the brand’s sales growth as 2023 entered its final months.

Toyota dropped to second place with sales of only 57,414 vehicles, a decrease of more than 33,000 units compared to 2022. In 2023, the company also made efforts to introduce new models to the market, such as Yaris Cross and Innova Cross. However, the inability to maintain the appeal of key models like Vios and Corolla Cross as before has significantly affected Toyota’s sales in Vietnam.

Kia is the third best-selling car brand in the Vietnamese market with 40,773 vehicles sold, a decrease of about 20,000 units compared to the previous year. Following Kia is Ford with sales of 38,063 vehicles. The fifth position belongs to Mazda with 35,632 vehicles.
