2023 was a year of turmoil for the automotive market. Despite the heavy discounts offered by manufacturers and dealerships, the purchasing power did not improve and saw a significant decline compared to 2022.

However, there were still several car models that had impressive growth in sales and maintained top positions in rankings.

Here are the top 5 best-selling SUVs in 2023:

Mazda CX-5: 16,808 units

The Mazda CX-5 recorded a sales volume of 16,808 units in 2023, an increase of 4,108 units compared to 2022. This model accounted for 2/3 of the total sales of the brand in the past year.

Compared to its competitors, the CX-5 stands out with its sleek and sophisticated design. Additionally, it offers a luxurious and high-quality interior. The car is equipped with modern features that provide an exciting driving experience.

The Mazda CX-5 2023 is available in two engine options:
– SkyActiv-G 2.0L engine with a power of 154 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 200 Nm at 4,000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. It also has two driving modes: Normal and Sport.
– Skyactiv-G 2.5L engine with a maximum power of 188 horsepower and a torque of 252 Nm, combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Recently, Thaco, the distributor of Mazda CX-5, adjusted the selling price with an increase of 5-10 million VND (depending on the version). The car is currently available in 7 different versions, with prices ranging from 759 to 999 million VND.

Kia Sonet: 11,366 units

With an attractive price, youthful design, and outstanding features, Kia Sonet successfully captured the hearts of Vietnamese consumers in the past year. It achieved a sales volume of 11,366 units in 2023, an increase of nearly 2,000 units compared to 2022.

The Kia Sonet 2023 is locally assembled and is available in 4 different versions, with prices ranging from 519 to 579 million VND.

The car is powered by a Smartstream 1.5L gasoline engine, which produces a maximum power of 113 horsepower and a maximum torque of 144 Nm. It is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic transmission.

Hyundai Creta: 10,719 units

Throughout 2023, Hyundai delivered 10,719 units of the Creta to customers. Although this result was lower by nearly 1,400 units compared to 2022, the car still made it into the top 5 best-selling SUVs in Vietnam in 2023.

The Hyundai Creta is locally assembled with 3 versions (Standard, Special, and Premium), with prices ranging from 640 to 745 million VND.

The car is powered by a 1.5L naturally aspirated gasoline engine, which produces 115 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 144 Nm torque at 4,500 rpm. It is paired with a front-wheel drive and an iVT transmission (intelligent continuously variable transmission) developed by Hyundai.

Toyota Corolla Cross: 10,485 units

Despite a slight decrease in performance compared to 2022, the Toyota Corolla Cross still achieved good sales numbers in 2023, with 10,485 units sold.

The Corolla Cross is highly regarded for its modern and youthful design, while maintaining the solid and reliable feel typical of Toyota vehicles.

The car is locally assembled with 3 versions: 1.8G, 1.8V, and Hybrid, with prices ranging from 755 to 955 million VND.

It is powered by two engine options: a 1.8L 4-cylinder gasoline engine producing 138 horsepower and 172 Nm torque, and a hybrid version which combines a 1.8L engine with an electric motor for a total output of 53 horsepower and 163 Nm torque. Both engines are paired with a CVT automatic transmission.

Ford Everest: 9,960 units

With its rugged and muscular exterior design and a range of modern amenities, the Ford Everest, a mid-size SUV, has always been loved by users.

Ford Vietnam sold a total of 9,960 Everest units in 2023, making it the only 7-seater SUV in the top 5 best-selling SUVs in Vietnam.

The Everest is available in 5 different versions, with prices ranging from 1,099 to 1,499 billion VND.

The top-end variant and the Wildtrak variant are powered by a 2.0L Bi-Turbo diesel engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, delivering a maximum power of 210 horsepower and a torque of 500 Nm, with a 4WD system.

The remaining variants of the Everest are equipped with a 2.0L Turbo diesel engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission, producing 170 horsepower and 405 Nm torque, promising fuel efficiency.
