Ford Vietnam Receives First Class Labor Medal, Achieves Record Sales in 2023

Today, on January 18, 2023, Ford Vietnam held a ceremony to receive the First-class Labor Medal at the Hai Duong factory. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the leadership of central and local agencies including the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Hai Duong province, Deputy Ministers of Planning and Investment, Industry and Trade, and Transport, the U.S Ambassador to Vietnam, Ms. Kay Hart, President of Ford for the international market, along with many partners and distinguished guests. Ford Vietnam is considered a symbol of cooperation and the development of the relationship between Vietnam and the United States.

Ford Vietnam is honored to receive the First-class Labor Medal from the Vietnamese government approved by the State President. This is a great recognition for Ford’s 28-year operation in the Vietnamese market, with outstanding achievements in production and business, and significant contributions to the socioeconomic development of the local community. This award is also evidence of Ford’s long-term investment commitment focused on human development, products, dealer networks, customer experience, and community support in Vietnam.

In addition to this honor, the achievements in 2023 are also a proud milestone when Ford Vietnam received commendations from the Minister of Planning and Investment for its excellent performance in attracting foreign investment in Vietnam. Mr. Ruchik Shah, General Director of Ford Vietnam, also received recognition for his contributions with the “For the cause of Planning and Investment” commemorative medal.

2023 marks a new record in sales for Ford Vietnam with over 38,300 vehicles sold, accounting for 10% of the market share. Ford continues to lead the market in the pickup segment with Ranger holding 76% market share, in the mid-size SUV segment with Everest (65% market share), and in the light commercial vehicle segment with Transit (62% market share).

In addition, Ford Vietnam continuously upgrades its dealer network to meet the increasing demands of customers. The nationwide system of 43 dealerships has created over 5,000 jobs. The company also strives to provide a convenient journey for customers from choosing, purchasing to owning Ford products. With the trust that Vietnamese customers have given to Ford over the past 28 years, Ford has become one of the largest contributors to the budget of Hai Duong province. In addition to significant contributions to the local budget, Ford Vietnam is committed to creating jobs for local workers, especially in Hai Duong province. Currently, the proportion of Hai Duong labor accounts for 90% at the factory, and 20% of the company’s employees are female workers.

In recent years, Ford Vietnam has actively contributed to corporate social responsibility activities such as scholarships, creating playgrounds and libraries for children, emergency support during the pandemic, and promoting traffic safety. The Ford Driving Skills for Life program, which we have been implementing for 16 years, has provided free training to over 17,000 drivers nationwide.
