The second Liberty Walk modified McLaren 650S in Vietnam has not only been given a fresh new look but also upgraded with a new exhaust system.
Known as the first McLaren model to arrive in Vietnam, the 650S Spider is a convertible supercar with a design that exudes aerodynamics and a price tag of tens of billions of dong upon its arrival in the country.
In Vietnam, there are around 6 McLaren 650S Spiders, including only 2 Liberty Walk converted models. And the car in this article is the second Liberty Walk converted model in Vietnam, owned by a Japanese car tuning company.
Recently, this supercar has been repainted in a striking red and black exterior color, which is perfect for the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday. Additionally, this second Liberty Walk McLaren 650S Spider in Vietnam has been upgraded with the Fi Volcano Conversion Kit exhaust system, inspired by the limited edition 600LT.
It is known that the current appearance of the McLaren 650S Spider is inspired by the McLaren P1 GTR, but has been redesigned to be more suitable. The entire transformation and upgrade process was carried out by the GTA-Wrapping team.
Compared to the first Liberty Walk McLaren 650S Spider, the car in this article has some differences in the exterior. For example, the hood area of the car is made entirely of carbon fiber, inspired by the hypercar McLaren P1.
Next are details such as the front/rear bumper and side skirts of the car, which are also changed to use carbon fiber materials to enhance the sportiness.
In addition, the car’s wheels have also been replaced with single-piece Forgiato wheels, which are shaped like impressive swirls. At the rear, a large carbon fiber spoiler has been added to increase its aggressiveness.
A special feature of the Liberty Walk conversion kit must be mentioned, which is the widened wheel arches achieved by using rivets directly attached to the car’s body to secure the widened front/rear wheel arches.
In addition, the engineers at Liberty Walk will cut a portion of the original body to create more space for the higher and larger wheels, as well as the suspension system.
Despite being refreshed with many expensive details, the engine of the second Liberty Walk McLaren 650S Spider in Vietnam has not undergone any changes. Powering the car is still the original 3.8L twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing a maximum power of 641 horsepower. Combined with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive system, the McLaren 650S Spider can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 3 seconds before reaching a top speed of 328 km/h.
