A research website and car buying consultancy iSeeCars conducted a study to report on the most durable cars that still perform well after traveling approximately 400,000 km.
Specifically, iSeeCars analyzed over 260 million cars sold from 2012 to 2022 in the US market to provide the most objective evaluations of car models that can still perform well after more than 400,000 km.
iSeeCars developed a model, examined and evaluated based on the odometer reading for each year in the product life cycle.
The survey and analysis results by iSeeCars show that on average, only 11.8% of car models can still perform well after having traveled more than 400,000 km. According to the iSeeCars evaluation, the most durable car models are mainly SUVs, pickups from Japanese, American brands.
Topping the list of the most durable cars is the Ford F-350 Super Duty pickup truck. This model has 49.1% of the total vehicles sold that can still perform well after more than 400,000 km.
The car known as “the rock” Toyota Land Cruiser is also on this list, ranking second with 47.9% of the vehicles being able to operate stably after having traveled more than 400,000 km.
Toyota also has the most presence in this list, with 5 different models like Toyota Tundra (47.9%), Toyota Sequoia (47.1%) ranking third and fourth. In addition, there is Toyota Tacoma ranking seventh with 41.7%, Toyota 4Runner (41%) ranking tenth.
Furthermore, there are other car models such as Honda Pilot (42.7%), Ford F-250 Super Duty (43.6%), GMC Sierra 2500 HD (41.3%), Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD (41.2%).
