On January 19, Toyota Vietnam officially announced a recall for the “Front Shock Absorber Bolts Tightening” on the Veloz, Avanza, and Yaris Cross models.
At the same time, the company has implemented a customer satisfaction program called “Replace Front Strut Dust Boot on Veloz, Avanza, and Raize imported models”.
This program demonstrates Toyota’s responsibility to customers who have always loved and trusted Toyota products in Vietnam.
The program will be officially carried out by Toyota Vietnam from January 19, 2024, at all Toyota dealerships nationwide. The specific list and number of affected vehicles in Vietnam are as follows:
Recall program “Front Shock Absorber Bolts Tightening” on Veloz, Avanza, and Yaris Cross models
The front shock absorbers of the vehicles in the affected range use bolts for assembly. Due to a design issue, the tightening force of the shock absorber bolts may be insufficient. During vehicle use, the shock absorber bolts may become loose, causing abnormal noise. In the worst-case scenario, the shock absorber bolts may come off, resulting in instability during vehicle use.
Customers with vehicles in the affected range will receive notifications from Toyota dealerships to bring their vehicles for inspection. Based on the inspection results, the customers’ vehicles will have the shock absorber bolts tightened. The estimated inspection, repair, and replacement time is approximately 0.5 to 2.5 hours/vehicle.
Customer satisfaction program “Replace Front Strut Dust Boot on Veloz, Avanza, and Raize imported models”
The front strut assembly is equipped with a dust boot to prevent dust and water ingress. During the assembly process of the front strut assembly, the assembly tool may come into contact with the dust boot, causing damage to the dust boot. If water enters the dust boot and causes corrosion, the strut may wear out prematurely.
Customers with vehicles in the affected range will receive notifications from Toyota dealerships to bring their vehicles for inspection. Based on the inspection results, the customers’ vehicles will have the front strut dust boot replaced. The estimated inspection, repair, and replacement time is approximately 1.3 to 2.4 hours/vehicle.
Toyota Vietnam advises customers who own vehicles in the affected range of the two programs to promptly bring their vehicles to Toyota dealerships nationwide for inspection and completely free replacement.
To save waiting time, customers can proactively contact Toyota dealerships to schedule an appointment before bringing their vehicles for inspection. For more detailed information about the programs and whether customers’ vehicles are affected or not, customers can access the information through the following methods:

For imported non-genuine Toyota vehicles that fall within the scope of the two programs, upon receiving a request from the vehicle owner, TMV will check the detailed information. After confirming and approving the issue, Toyota dealerships will proceed with the inspection and free replacement for the customers.
Toyota Vietnam hopes to receive understanding and positive cooperation from customers to quickly implement the programs and achieve the best results.
