The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is making efforts to enter the electric vehicle (EV) game and they have made an impressive debut with their first effort, the SU7 sedan, which was launched in late December 2023. However, consumers have had some feedback on the design of this electric car model for the Chinese company. And surprisingly, a newly introduced car has received subtle design changes based on customer feedback.

The documents submitted to the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology have revealed that while the overall appearance remains unchanged, Xiaomi will introduce some new ideas to make it look more sporty.

The biggest change is in the rear of the car. It seems that the Chinese car brand has fine-tuned the design of the smaller rear badge to make it more symmetrical. While the previous brand name took up almost the entire space on the trunk, it is now significantly smaller.

In addition, Xiaomi has added 21-inch wheels to the options list (the largest wheels previously were 20 inches) and the brake calipers now come in different colors. Finally, carbon fiber mirror caps have been added to the options list, which may make the design look slightly more sporty.

With the ambition to become a competitive rival to the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S, the SU7 will be quite powerful. With two electric motors, the top-of-the-line version will have a power output of 664 horsepower, allowing the car to reach a speed of 100 km/h in just 2.78 seconds. With a 101 kWh battery pack, Xiaomi estimates that the SU7 will be capable of covering a distance of up to 800 km on a single full charge.

As you would expect from a technology company, the SU7 will have a very impressive interior. The car features a 7.1-inch instrument cluster and a 16.1-inch infotainment screen, along with all the connectivity amenities to provide a quick and intuitive experience akin to the latest tablets.
