Even though we have entered 2024, some 2022 model year vehicles (VIN 2022) are still in stock at dealerships. In order to clear inventory, dealerships are offering deep discounts and promotions for vehicles with VIN 2022, including the Ford Explorer.
Specifically, many dealerships nationwide are currently selling the Ford Explorer for only 1,999 billion VND. Compared to the original price of 2,439 billion VND, these vehicles have a discount of up to 440 million VND at the dealership. However, the availability of Ford Explorers with a starting price below 2 billion VND and in specific colors is limited.
The Ford Explorer is being discounted with a starting price below 2 billion VND in order to clear inventory.
In January 2024, Ford Vietnam is also offering a cash discount of 100 million VND for the large SUV model, the Explorer. This promotion from the dealership may already include the manufacturer’s discount.
The Ford Explorer is not the only model currently being discounted by hundreds of millions of VND in the Vietnamese market. Other models such as the Volkswagen Teramont, Volkswagen Touareg, Volvo XC90 Ultimate, Subaru BRZ, and Subaru Outback are also being offered with significant discounts.
The Ford Explorer has never been a high-selling model in the Vietnamese market. Therefore, it’s not surprising that these SUVs with prices in the billions are still in stock at dealerships.
In the whole of 2023, Ford sold a total of 320 Explorers to Vietnamese customers, a decrease of 61.3% compared to 2022, and it was among the top 10 slowest-selling cars in the market. The appearance of a new competitor, the Hyundai Palisade, with a starting price of only 1,469 billion VND, added pressure to the American SUV model. In just the last 3 months of 2023, the Hyundai Palisade achieved a cumulative sales volume of 413 units, surpassing the Ford Explorer.
Ford Explorer’s annual sales are lower than Hyundai Palisade’s sales in just 3 months.
The Ford Explorer features a muscular and masculine American design. Inside the vehicle is a 7-seat interior with notable features such as the 8-inch center touchscreen, SYNC 3 entertainment system, Bang & Olufsen 12-speaker sound system, 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, digital dashboard, panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, and entertainment screens for the second-row seats, among others.
Under the hood, the Ford Explorer is equipped with a 2.3L EcoBoost turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine, a 10-speed automatic transmission, and 4-wheel drive (AWD). The engine delivers a maximum power of 297 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 431.5 Nm at 2,500 rpm.
Furthermore, this large SUV model also comes with the Ford Co-Pilot 360 technology package, which includes various attractive features such as a 360-degree camera, collision warning, emergency braking assistance, blind-spot warning, cross-traffic alert when reversing, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and active cruise control system.
