Toyota is set to introduce an upgraded version of the Corolla Cross in the Thai market on February 8, 2024. The model currently available in Vietnam is imported from Thailand, so it’s not surprising to see the Corolla Cross in Vietnam getting upgraded based on the Thai version.
According to sales consultants at the dealership, the 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross in Vietnam will no longer offer the standard G variant, only keeping the V and HV versions. This change will raise the starting price of the B+ SUV from Toyota and create a clearer distinction from its sibling, the Yaris Cross. Currently, the Toyota Corolla Cross has a price range of 760-955 million VND.
According to sources from the dealership, the 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross in Vietnam will be upgraded in terms of equipment. The vehicle will feature new headlamps/taillights and new alloy wheels. These new features are similar to the Toyota Corolla Cross sold in the Australian market.

Specifically, the headlamps and taillights of the 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross will retain the overall design but with updated inner styling. The new headlamp unit will have two layers separated by a LED strip for daytime running lights, creating a more modern look. The 18-inch alloy wheels will feature a multi-spoke design with a two-tone scratch pattern.

Similar to the exterior, the interior of the 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross will also receive updates in some details. The highlight of the B-segment SUV’s interior will be a digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch TFT liquid crystal display replacing the old analog type. This display has been improved for better driver visibility.

In addition, new features will be added, including electric parking brake, auto hold function, and USB Type C ports for both rows of seats. The V version will have a regular panoramic sunroof. On the other hand, the top-spec HV variant will be upgraded with a new panoramic sunroof.

Unfortunately, the engines of the 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross in Vietnam will remain unchanged. The V variant will still be equipped with a 1.8L petrol engine paired with a CVT-i continuously variable transmission, delivering a maximum output of 140 horsepower and a peak torque of 172 Nm.
The HV variant will use a hybrid powertrain, consisting of a 1.8L 4-cylinder petrol engine with a maximum output of 97 horsepower and a peak torque of 142 Nm. This engine is paired with an e-CVT gearbox and an electric motor with a maximum output of 72 horsepower and a peak torque of 163 Nm.
The 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross is expected to be launched in Vietnam this year, but the exact timing is yet to be confirmed by Toyota Vietnam.
With the upgrades, the Toyota Corolla Cross is expected to improve its sales performance. In the second half of 2023, the model experienced a continuous decline in sales and consistently lagged behind its Korean rivals, the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta.
By the end of 2023, the Toyota Corolla Cross achieved a total sales of 10,485 units, a 51.1% decrease compared to 2022. Not only did it lose its position as the best-selling compact SUV to the Mazda CX-5, but it also surrendered the top spot in the B-segment SUV market to the Hyundai Creta.
