The McLaren 765LT is a limited edition supercar produced by McLaren Automotive, with a global production of only 765 units for the coupe version, and a similar number for the Spider variant. In Vietnam, there are only 5 McLaren 765LTs, with 4 of them being coupes and 1 being a convertible.
Recently, with only 16 days left until the Lunar New Year, a wealthy individual who owns a McLaren 765LT coupe has decided to sell this limited edition supercar. It seems that after experiencing it for a while, he has lost interest in the beastly drag racing car.
The background of the McLaren 765LT being put up for sale
According to the information we have gathered, the limited edition McLaren 765LT coupe being sold is painted in McLaren Orange. There are only 2 cars with this color in Vietnam. Moreover, the person selling this McLaren 765LT coupe has revealed that it is the only car with the Comfort seat package and has disclosed the identity of the owner.
The owner is a car enthusiast from the western region, specifically Kien Giang province. He purchased this limited edition McLaren 765LT from a well-known parallel importer in Vietnam. The car arrived in Vietnam in June 2021 and was frequently transported by ferry to Phu Quoc Island. Videos show that transporting the car by waterway posed many challenges.
In January 2023, the registration process for the McLaren 765LT coupe was finally completed, and one year later, the car was put up for sale.
What makes the McLaren 765LT of the Kien Giang tycoon special?
Interestingly, the license plate of the McLaren 765LT owned by the Kien Giang tycoon is quite ordinary compared to the other cars he owns, which all have special license plates with double numbers and other beautiful numbers. It seems that despite spending over VND 36 billion on the supercar, the car enthusiast from Kien Giang was not as lucky as the owners of Porsche, Mercedes-Maybach, or Lexus vehicles, who have “luxurious” license plates related to the number 2, including triple numbers and quadruple numbers.
Before registering the car, this car enthusiast took the McLaren 765LT to Ho Chi Minh City to have the Novitec exhaust system installed. The highlight is the smooth gold plating that adds a Middle Eastern flair, along with carbon fiber tailpipes. The value of this exhaust system is worth hundreds of millions of dong.
The first McLaren 765LT with a license plate from the western region features an exterior painted in McLaren Orange, along with various carbon fiber details. This limited edition supercar has many differences compared to the standard version, including a front spoiler, air vents on the wheel arch, new wheels with the 765LT logo, a higher rear wing, and, most importantly, quad exhaust pipes.
The McLaren 765LT coupe being resold by the Kien Giang tycoon has the serial number 381 out of the total 765 units produced worldwide. The interior of the car features a dark tone with Alcantara leather, combined with carbon fiber accents and orange stitching on the safety belts, complementing the exterior color scheme.
The McLaren 765LT is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine that generates a maximum power of 755 horsepower and a peak torque of 800 Nm. This limited edition version of the McLaren 720S takes only 2.7 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h before reaching a top speed of 330 km/h.
