According to the announcement by sales consultants at the dealership, the expected price of the Volkswagen Teramont X in Vietnam is 2.168 billion VND. If this selling price is accurate, the car will be significantly cheaper than its sibling, the Volkswagen Teramont, currently being sold in Vietnam (2.499 billion VND).
Similar to the large-sized MPV Viloran that was launched in Vietnam in December last year, the Volkswagen Teramont X is also fully imported from China. This model is a product of the SAIC-Volkswagen joint venture and is also the Coupe SUV version of the Volkswagen Teramont.
Considered as a more affordable alternative to the BMW X6 or the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, the Teramont X is based on the familiar MQB platform of Volkswagen. This car has dimensions of 4,917 x 1,989 x 1,729 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,980 mm. Compared to the Volkswagen Teramont, the Teramont X is shorter by 180 mm and lower by 48 mm, while the width and wheelbase remain almost unchanged.
In addition to slight adjustments in size, the Volkswagen Teramont X also features a more stylish and impressive exterior design compared to the regular Teramont. This car carries the distinctive design elements of Volkswagen, including a large rectangular grille and modern IQ Light LED Matrix headlights. The headlights and grille are divided by a daytime running LED strip.
On the side, the Volkswagen Teramont X is equipped with character lines connecting the front/rear mudguards, sloping roof towards the rear, and 21-inch alloy wheels with a robust 5-spoke design. Behind the wheels are prominent red brake calipers.
At the rear, this Coupe SUV features continuous taillights and a strip of light on the rear bumper. These details help make the rear of the car look wider and more imposing. In addition, the Teramont X has Volkswagen’s integrated LED logo both at the front and rear of the vehicle.
The Volkswagen Teramont X sold in Vietnam belongs to the sporty and premium R-Line version. Therefore, the car has a series of glossy black exterior details as accents, such as the grille, the horizontal air intake on the front bumper, the central air vent, the alloy wheels, the front mudguard trims, the door trims, the mirror covers, the shark fin antenna, the roof rack, the rear light surround, the wind deflector, and the rear bumper.
In addition, there is an “R” logo on the grille and front mudguard trims.
In contrast to the Teramont, the Volkswagen Teramont X is equipped with a 2-row seating layout with 5 seats.
The rear luggage compartment of the car has a volume of 540 liters or 1,719 liters with the rear seats folded down.
The interior of the car is upholstered in elegant two-tone black-gray leather, adorned with red accents such as stitching on the seats or the steering wheel spoke. Meanwhile, the dashboard is adorned with glossy black wood paneling, engraved with the words “Teramont X”.
Specific details about the interior equipment of this Coupe SUV in Vietnam have not been announced. However, it would not be surprising if the car is equipped with features such as 12-way power-adjustable seats, auto-dimming rearview mirror, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 12-inch center touch screen, Harman Kardon 12-speaker sound system, electric trunk with foot sensor, windshield heads-up display, automatic air conditioning, decorative lights, wireless phone charging, and electronic parking brake.
Under the hood of the Volkswagen Teramont X in Vietnam is a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a maximum output of 220 horsepower and a peak torque of 350 Nm. The engine works with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a 4Motion all-wheel drive system.
Finally, there are modern safety features such as 9 airbags, adaptive cruise control, 360-degree camera, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, automatic parking assist, lane keeping assist, lane change assist, driver attention alert, front/rear parking sensors, and door opening collision warning.
