The Honda Civic Type R is a famous sports car from the Japanese automaker. However, in Vietnam, there is only one fifth-generation model available. With the introduction of the sixth generation, the official distribution of this model has increased significantly, giving Vietnamese car enthusiasts more opportunities to own it. According to sources, there will be at least 20 units of the new generation Civic Type R in the country.
Recently, a 2023 Honda Civic Type R was unexpectedly put up for sale in the used car market for 2.45 billion VND. According to the seller, the car has only traveled 5,000 kilometers and has been used for a few months. This price is on par with a brand-new Civic Type R, which has a listed price of 2.399 billion VND.
After completing the registration procedure, the estimated value of the car is about 2.7 billion VND. Therefore, the owner has made a significant financial investment.
In an interview with Autodaily, the owner of the car, who is personally selling it, revealed that he has spent over 160 million VND on upgrading the car. The main upgrades include the Miltek Catback exhaust system, PRL air filter, and front strut brace. The car has also been ceramic coated to protect its details from scratches.
In addition, the black-painted 6-spoke Ray wheels equipped on this Civic Type R also come with a price tag of 2,000 USD (equivalent to about 47 million VND). The original sport car from Honda is equipped with 19-inch, 5-double-spoke black wheels.
According to an internal source, the owner of this car is the first person in Vietnam to place an order for the 2023 Honda Civic Type R. The exterior of the car still looks new after 5,000 kilometers of use. The Sonic Grey Pearl paint color of this car is the same as the first Civic Type R that arrived in Vietnam, which is currently owned by a car enthusiast in Ho Chi Minh City.
Inside, the interior is still adorned with a red and black theme, which is Honda’s only option for this model. Many details are covered in suede, such as the steering wheel and seats, to enhance the grip on the driver when the car is operating at high speeds or going around corners. The car is still equipped with a 10.2-inch display behind the steering wheel, but it also comes with the +R driving mode.
Under the hood of the 2023 Honda Civic Type R is a turbocharged 2.0L engine, generating 315 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque, 9 horsepower more than the previous generation. The new feature in this car is the 6-speed manual transmission with the characteristic Rev matching technology, which has been refined for smoother shifts. The car still uses front-wheel drive.
In addition to the Civic Type R, the owner also owns a rare Subaru WRX 2023 in Vietnam. This is also a model in the same segment as the Civic Type R. According to the owner’s sharing with Autodaily, he does not want to sell any of his cars, especially special cars like the Type R. However, due to his preference for more expensive cars that he cannot afford to own too many, he reluctantly decided to sell this car.
