Recently, a sales consultant at Lexus in Hanoi unexpectedly posted a deposit for the new generation Lexus LM 500h.
However, detailed information about the car, price, and delivery time has not been disclosed. Lexus Vietnam has not yet confirmed this.
the Lexus LM 2024 was first introduced at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2023. Since then, the car has been launched in several countries in Southeast Asia such as Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, and Brunei. Therefore, it is not surprising that the Lexus LM 2024 will soon be available in Vietnam.
The Lexus LM is developed on the TNGA platform of the parent company Toyota, with dimensions of 5,125 x 1,890 x 1,955 mm and a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. Compared to the previous generation, the car is longer by 85 mm, wider by 40 mm, and taller by 10 mm while the wheelbase remains the same.
In terms of exterior, the front of the Lexus LM impresses with its large signature spindle grille. The grille extends down to the front bumper and features a new mesh similar to the Lexus RX 2023.
A narrow air vent is added above the grille, between the headlights. The headlight cluster of the Lexus LM 2024 has also been redesigned. The headlight cluster with 3 LED bulbs still has the same sharp design but is accompanied by two LED daylight running lights in the shape of the letter “L,” instead of one like the previous generation.
Meanwhile, the Lexus logo has been moved from inside the grille to the hood. On the front bumper, there are additional vertically arranged air vents, decorated with sturdy silver accents.
The car is equipped with 17-19-inch wheels, depending on the variant, and has power-sliding doors similar to the predecessor.
At the rear, the Lexus LM features new LED taillights that span across the rear and are designed to be concave. In the middle of the rear door, there is another thin light strip, which could be the brake light and the raised Lexus logo.
In terms of interior, the new generation Lexus LM is equipped with modern convenience technologies, focusing on enhancing the experience of sitting in the car. One of the most notable changes is the new seating design. The front seats are designed to hug the occupants more closely, providing a more comfortable and safe feeling.
Lexus offers customers 3 seating options, which are 4, 6, and 7 seats. Among them, the 4-seat version is the most luxurious, with notable features such as a partition between the front and rear seats, a 48-inch widescreen monitor, a refrigerator, special storage compartments, etc. Moreover, the Lexus LM also has an advanced heating and cooling system that can measure the temperature of the passenger’s face, chest, and thighs to control the HVAC system, ensuring balanced cooling/heating capability.
Some other notable convenience features in the Lexus LM 2024 include a digital dashboard connected to a 14-inch touchscreen, premium Mark Levinson sound system, wireless phone charging, USB Type C ports, a 64-color ambient lighting system with 14 themes, electronic parking brakes, and temporary automatic brake hold feature. The ceiling of the car features a wood-trimmed control cluster with some car features, and air vents. The control cluster is flanked by sunroof windows on both sides.
The car is powered by two engine options, 350h and 500h.
The 500h version combines a 2.4L turbocharged engine (268 horsepower, 460 Nm) with 2 electric motors for a total output of up to 349 horsepower, paired with an 8-speed Direct Shift transmission. This is also the version that dealers are currently accepting deposits for.
Meanwhile, the Lexus LM 350h will still be equipped with a 2.5L gasoline engine and electric motor like the previous version.
In terms of safety features, the car is equipped with a range of driver assistance features in the Lexus Safety System+ package, including forward collision warning, pre-collision braking assist, adaptive cruise control with radar, etc. It even has a system to monitor the driver’s posture, and when the system determines that the driver cannot continue driving, the car will automatically turn on the warning lights and gently reduce speed.
In the Vietnamese market, Lexus is still selling two previous versions, including a 7-seat and a 4-seat version, priced at VND 7.21 billion and VND 8.61 billion, respectively.
