A Special Edition for the year of Giap Thin 2024, only 1888 units are produced worldwide. The special feature of Vespa 946 Dragon is the handcrafted emerald green dragon pattern.
To commemorate the year of Giap Thin 2024, as well as the 11th anniversary of the launch of the Vespa 946 series, Piaggio Group has introduced a special edition called Vespa 946 Dragon, which is produced in a limited quantity of 1888 units. Specifically, this edition takes its design inspiration from the image of Dragon – the mythical creature of the East for the year 2024.
The first impressive highlight of the Vespa 946 Dragon is the luxurious golden “dress” with a contrasting emerald green dragon pattern, appearing from the front apron to the rear of the scooter. It is known that this “dress” of the Vespa 946 Dragon is entirely handcrafted in Italy.
On the right side of the Vespa 946 Dragon body, there are 4 pairs of numbers: 12, 00, 88, and 76, written in a font similar to the style of varsity jackets in American school sports teams. These four numbers represent the past years of Thìn in the Eastern zodiac: Nhâm Thìn 2012, Canh Thìn 2000, Mậu Thìn 1988, and Bính Thìn 1976.
Vespa 946 Dragon still uses the 4-stroke engine from the 3V ie. old series instead of the new iGet engine, with a displacement of 125 or 150cc depending on each market. Compared to other smaller frame Vespa models that use the same engine, the Vespa 946 Dragon stands out with its 2-channel ABS and traction control system.
In addition, Piaggio Group also launched an exclusive Dragon Varsity jacket with the same emerald green dragon pattern, with a body made of woven fabric and sleeves made of nappa leather. Alongside that are a series of Giap Thin-themed accessories such as helmets, rear storage bags, etc.
Vespa 946 Dragon will be officially launched at an event in HongKong on January 24. It is expected that the model will be available in the Vietnamese market in early April 2024.
