According to information posted on the Vehicle Registration Office website, a total of 255 Toyota Raize cars produced in Vietnam during the period from 15/12/2022 to 7/1 will need to be recalled. The Vehicle Registration Office stated that this recall of Toyota Raize is related to the airbag control module.
Specifically, the 255 recalled Raize vehicles may experience a short circuit inside the capacitor of the airbag control module circuit board. In that case, the airbag and emergency tensioning device may not function as designed, affecting the safety of the driver and passengers in the event of a collision.
In the recall notice, the Vehicle Registration Office recommends that owners of affected Toyota Raize vehicles quickly bring their cars to Toyota dealers nationwide for a free replacement of the airbag control module.

The estimated time to inspect and repair the issue on each Toyota Raize vehicle is about 40 minutes per vehicle. This recall of Toyota Raize will start on June 30 and is scheduled to end on June 30, 2026.
A few days ago, Toyota Indonesia also issued a recall for the Avanza, Veloz, and Raize models produced from December 2022 to January 2026 due to a similar issue.
In 2022, the small urban SUV model from Toyota was previously recalled for a front suspension tower assembly welding issue, which could cause the Raize to collapse.
After the first 5 months of the year, Toyota Raize sold 2,629 units in Vietnam. The Toyota A-segment SUV is gradually losing ground to direct competitor Kia Sonet (with 3,476 units sold in the same period) and may face additional pressure from the VinFast VF 5 Plus model.
