Maserati will introduce 4 new electric car models between now and 2028. In addition, the company also plans to upgrade the Modena plant to serve the electrification process.
Maserati has announced a plan to launch new electric car models, following rumors that the brand is facing difficulties in the electrification process.
According to the latest plan of the car manufacturer, all Maserati branded cars will be “designed, developed, and produced 100% in Italy “. The car manufacturer said Maserati is “writing the future of luxury mobility with an ambitious strategy” by developing a comprehensive product plan for electrification, reflecting customer desires.
Maserati said it believes in the future of electric vehicles in the automotive industry and plans to launch several new electric cars, in addition to the current models Grecale Folgore and GranTurismo Folgore being sold in Europe. As part of this effort, a new all-electric coupe called GranCabrio Folgore will be unveiled by the Italian carmaker later this year.
In addition, Maserati also announced that MC20 Folgore will be launched in 2025, while an E-segment electric crossover will appear in 2027. Afterwards, the all-electric version of Quattroporte is expected to be introduced in 2028.
Maserati’s Modena plant is expected to receive significant investment to increase its capacity to produce electric vehicles. This will also be the location for the Maserati Fuoriserie personalization program, allowing customers to create their own unique, luxurious, and exclusive cars.
Maserati added that they are the only luxury brand of Stellantis and “are establishing a strong business model, aiming at the electric future to enhance their leading position in the luxury segment by maintaining appropriate production volume and profit margins in line with their unique brand positioning.”
Further explaining this plan, Maserati’s CEO – Mr. Davide Grasso, said, “We are making every effort to lead the electrification change, with two of our iconic models now having all-electric versions and another model set to be launched this year. Maserati will deliver to customers the most luxurious and powerful electric cars, pushing the boundaries of driving pleasure into a new era.”
