On the evening of January 25th, 2024, a blue convertible supercar, the Ferrari 296 GTS, made a surprising appearance on the streets of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. The car was initially parked at a nearby cafe close to the city’s opera house, and later moved to Dong Khoi Street before stopping at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street for several hours.
Thus, this is now the second Ferrari 296 GTS convertible to be seen in the Vietnamese market. The first car was delivered to a customer in Bac Lieu province, although the couple actually resides and works in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.

According to initial reports, this second Ferrari 296 GTS convertible to be seen in Vietnam is owned by a wealthy individual residing in Ho Chi Minh City. However, the car currently does not have an official license plate, instead it is using a temporary one with the number T60-345.67.
As can be seen, although the Ferrari 296 GTS convertible is using a temporary license plate, it still showcases the number 34567, also known as the lucky number. The exterior of the car is blue, with several details painted in black or carbon fiber. The double-spoke wheels are different from those on the first car.

The Ferrari 296 GTS inherits the power of the Ferrari 296 GTB supercar but has the advantage of a convertible roof that can be easily opened or closed in just 14 seconds. The process of opening/closing the roof of the Ferrari 296 GTS, which was first introduced in Ho Chi Minh City, is very convenient as the Italian automaker has integrated a roof button on the central control panel, along with the appropriate small window up/down button.
The Ferrari 296 GTS convertible is equipped with a 2.9-liter turbocharged V6 gasoline engine, delivering a maximum power of 654 horsepower and a peak torque of 425 Nm. In addition, an electric motor is installed between the internal combustion engine and the 8-speed transmission, providing the convertible version of the Ferrari 296 GTB with an additional maximum power of 164 horsepower and a peak torque of 315 Nm.
Thanks to its plug-in hybrid drivetrain, the Ferrari 296 GTS convertible has a total power output of 818 horsepower and a peak torque of 740 Nm. This engine allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds before reaching a top speed of 330 km/h. The Ferrari 296 GTS is also the first convertible supercar variant from Ferrari to use a V6 engine.
