Yesterday, on January 25th, 2024, local time, Porsche officially unveiled its all-new electric SUV model named Macan EV. True to its name, this model marks a complete transition from the familiar combustion engine to fully electric for the Porsche Macan lineup.

Macan EV is not the first electric car from the Porsche brand. However, it is the first Porsche model to completely switch from combustion engine to electric power.

The new generation Porsche Macan is officially launched, completely switching to electric power

Developed based on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) chassis structure similar to the Audi Q6 e-tron, the 2024 Porsche Macan EV has dimensions of 4,786 x 2,151 x 1,620 mm (length x width x height) with a wheelbase of 2,893 mm. Compared to the previous generation Macan, the new model is 58 mm longer, 224 mm wider, and 76 mm taller.

Although it is an electric vehicle, the Macan EV still retains the distinctive Porsche design. Additionally, this model is designed in a Coupe SUV style, similar to the Porsche Cayenne Coupe, with a sloping roofline.

Thanks to the widened fenders, short overhangs, and frameless doors, the 2024 Porsche Macan EV has a sporty look. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a two-tier headlight system featuring four LED daytime running lights positioned above, reminiscent of the Porsche Cayenne and the new Taycan. The main headlights are positioned below and can be equipped with Matrix Design LED technology in the high-end version.

Another highlight of this luxury electric SUV is the new set of wheels, with a diameter of up to 22 inches. The rear of the vehicle impresses with its connected taillight cluster, featuring characteristic 3D LED strips.

Although it does not have hidden door handles like many other electric vehicles, the 2024 Porsche Macan EV still achieves an aerodynamic drag coefficient of only 0.25 Cd. Therefore, it is one of the SUVs with the lowest aerodynamic drag coefficient on the market.

In addition, Porsche applies an active aerodynamics system to reduce wind resistance. Specifically, the vehicle is equipped with an active rear spoiler and a center air intake that can be opened/closed.

The interior of the 2024 Macan EV features a more modern space, similar to the other new Porsche models. Not falling behind the trend, this electric SUV is also equipped with a series of large screens inside the cabin.

Specifically, the 2024 Porsche Macan EV has a 12.6-inch curved digital instrument cluster and a 10.9-inch central touchscreen. In addition, there is an optional 10.9-inch entertainment screen for the passenger. Passengers can use this screen to access features such as video playback or navigation.

Another new feature of this electric vehicle is the Head-Up Display (HUD) with augmented reality technology. This technology allows the display of arrows pointing into the real world and appearing 10 meters in front of the driver. The HUD of the 2024 Porsche Macan EV creates an 87-inch screen in front of the driver.

Despite having four screens, the 2024 Porsche Macan EV still retains mechanical buttons to adjust commonly used features such as air conditioning. The infotainment system of the vehicle is based on the Android Automotive OS, supporting Apple CarPlay and voice control. This feature can suggest routes or assist the driver in finding charging stations.

Depending on the version, the Porsche Macan EV 2024 will feature leather or fabric seats, an interior ambient lighting system that can communicate with the driver when the vehicle is charging or activate driving assistance features.

Both the front and rear seats of the Porsche Macan EV 2024 are positioned lower than in the previous generation. The luggage compartment of the vehicle has a maximum capacity of 509 liters with both rows of seats intact, which is almost unchanged compared to the previous model. However, the vehicle also has an additional 82-liter storage compartment under the hood. If the rear seats are folded down, the luggage capacity increases to 1,316 liters.

When available on the market, the Porsche Macan EV 2024 will offer 2 motor options. The first is a dual electric motor setup with a total output of 402 horsepower and a maximum torque of 649 Nm for the Porsche Macan 4 EV 2024. This allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds before reaching a top speed of 135 mph.

With the Porsche Macan Turbo EV 2024, the dual motor setup will provide a total output of up to 630 horsepower and a maximum torque of 1,129 Nm. This power enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 160 mph.

In both versions, the vehicle features all-wheel drive. The Macan Turbo EV also includes an electronically controlled rear differential lock called Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus.

Regardless of the version, the vehicle uses a 95 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Porsche has not yet revealed the range of the vehicle after a full charge, only stating that it is “suitable for daily use.” The Porsche Macan EV 2024 supports fast charging of up to 270 kW, allowing the battery to go from 10-80% charge in approximately 21 minutes.
