After a long hiatus from the market, the MG HS will make a comeback in Vietnam with a new upgraded version, with many improvements in terms of equipment.
According to the announcement from the manufacturer, the MG HS 2024 will be introduced to Vietnamese consumers at a launch event on the evening of January 28.
The MG HS 2024 will be transitioning from being imported from China to Thailand. Dealerships have revealed that this compact SUV will be available in 2 variants: Trophy and Sport, with expected prices of VND 750 million and VND 900 million respectively.
Compared to the previous version that was distributed in Vietnam, the MG HS 2024 features a sportier design with a larger grille and sleek black vertical slats that flow smoothly like waterfalls. The LED headlights have a more sophisticated design, capable of automatically adjusting between high and low beams, and integrated with daytime running LED lights. If it’s similar to the Thai market, the high-end MG HS will be equipped with 18-inch multi-spoke wheels, LED turn signal integrated side mirrors, and a 360-degree camera system.
Inside the cabin, the MG HS 2024 features a sporty interior with a D-cut steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a Bose sound system, and either a 7-inch or 10-inch central display depending on the variant. Additionally, this SUV is equipped with leather seats, 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, 3-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters, and electric parking brake.
The MG HS 2024 also comes with a fairly modern safety system, including: 6 airbags, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, emergency brake assist, blind spot warning, and safe exit warning…
In the Thai market, the MG HS 2024 is available in 2 engine options. The first is a turbocharged 1.5L 4-cylinder petrol engine, producing a maximum power of 162 horsepower and a peak torque of 250 Nm. Power is transmitted via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
The second option is the plug-in hybrid powertrain with the same 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor for a total output of 284 horsepower and a peak torque of 480 Nm. With a 16.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the vehicle can travel up to 67 km on electric power alone.
