Crossover C is one of the most popular car segments in the Vietnamese market, with familiar names such as Mazda CX-5, Honda CR-V, and Hyundai Tucson. Even in the used car market, Crossover C cars are always in high demand. These cars meet many criteria of users such as high ground clearance, spacious 5-7 seat interiors, convenient equipment, sufficient safety features, and affordable prices.
In the current used car market, the Nissan X-Trail is a crossover C model with an extremely good price. According to some used car dealers in Hanoi, the current price of 2016-2017 Nissan X-Trail ranges from 520-565 million VND, and the higher the model year, the higher the price will be, around 620 million VND, which is equivalent to new B-segment crossovers like Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, and even lower than the recently launched Mitsubishi Xforce.
The Nissan X-Trail can be said to be the most cost-effective crossover C car in the current used car market
One of the reasons why the Nissan X-Trail depreciates significantly in the used car market is the lack of a new version in Vietnam. This model has been discontinued in Vietnam since 2020 after changing the Nissan distributor in Vietnam. In addition, high spare part prices also prevent this model from maintaining its value as well as its competitors in the same segment.
The Nissan X-Trail depreciates partly because there has been no new version in Vietnam for a long time
In contrast, competitors such as the Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, and Hyundai Tucson of the same model year have higher prices than the Nissan X-Trail. Especially the 2018 Honda CR-V – the new generation model with a new design – has a price of over 740 million VND. The 2017 model will have a slightly lower price, around 650 million VND.
For Hyundai Tucson, a rare Korean representative in this segment, it also offers the choice of petrol and diesel engines. In the petrol version, Hyundai Tucson has 2 engine options: 2.0L and Turbo 1.6L. The turbocharged 1.6L engine version has a higher price than the 2.0L petrol version, but overall, the price of all Tucson versions ranges from 610-680 million VND for the 2017-2018 models. The older Tucson 2016 has an approximate price of 580 million VND, quite high compared to the same model year Nissan X-Trail.
Another notable model in the crossover C segment is the Mitsubishi Outlander. This model has not undergone many significant changes in its interior and exterior design over the years and even has a higher depreciation rate than the Nissan X-Trail. With the 2016 model – the new generation with a new design, the Mitsubishi car is priced below 500 million VND but the quantity is not large.
As can be seen, the Mazda CX-5, Honda CR-V, and Hyundai Tucson are still the top 3 choices for most users. These are also 3 models that have consistently released new versions or technological advances in the past 5 years.
Nissan X-Trail: Selling it is regrettable, buying it is a bargain
As one of the most depreciated C-segment crossovers in the used car market, the Nissan X-Trail will make owners regret selling it. However, for those who want to buy a used C-segment crossover, this is a bargain worth considering.
For buyers of used C-segment crossovers, the Nissan X-Trail is a real bargain
The Nissan X-Trail is one of the multi-purpose crossovers that entered the Vietnamese market quite early. The new generation X-Trail arrived in Vietnam in 2016, unfortunately, since then, the car has not had any significant upgrades.
The design of the Nissan X-Trail has not changed for a long time
After 8 years, the exterior of the Nissan X-Trail is still quite slender and modern. The rounded lines at the front of the car have not shown any signs of being outdated. The interior has many drawbacks, such as the old-style steering wheel, the gear lever area, and the basic entertainment screen.

The driver’s seat uses zero gravity technology, which helps the driver feel comfortable and not tired on long journeys. The entire seats in the car are made of leather, and there is also a 2-zone air conditioning system with dust filter.

In addition, the Nissan X-Trail also has many safety technologies such as electronic brake force distribution, emergency brake assist, electronic stability control, active braking control, and traction control.
Under the hood of the Nissan X-Trail is a 2.0L petrol engine with a maximum power of 142 horsepower and a peak torque of 200 Nm, combined with a CVT gearbox. With this power, the X-Trail performs well in the current traffic infrastructure in Vietnam. However, since it is a used car, the X-Trail does not have active safety technology, and the model year is quite old, so it may not attract young customers.
