The new Mitsubishi Triton is longer and wider than the previous generation. Depending on each variant, the Triton has an overall length of 5,265-5,360 mm, width of 1,865-1,930 mm, and height of 1,775-1,815 mm. On the other hand, the wheelbase has been extended from 3,000 mm to 3,130 mm to provide better stability, more spacious cabin, and overall comfort while driving. The minimum ground clearance starts at 203 mm for the base GL M/T variant, while the other variants are 222 mm.

Reinforced by a new platform, Mitsubishi has made the frame of the car thicker, sturdier, stronger, and lighter than the previous version. The lighter chassis helps the Triton to have a weight ranging from 1,805 to 2,035 kg, depending on the variant.

Speaking of design, Mitsubishi calls the brand new design of the Triton “Beast Mode,” aiming to give the pickup truck a more rugged and powerful look. The overall design of the car looks more square, while the front face shows the development of the Dynamic Shield design language, using separate LED headlights and daytime running lights. It is worth noting that the completely new appearance of the Triton has been awarded the 2023 Japan Good Design Award, along with the XForce and Delica Mini.

Meanwhile, the range-topping Athlete variant stands out with orange accents. The orange color appears on the leather seats and stitching, creating unique highlights that blend harmoniously with the black interior. In terms of design, the completely new cabin of the Triton looks bolder and more boxy than ever.

The car is equipped with a 7-inch instrument cluster and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto. For the first time, the Triton features a 360-degree camera on the infotainment display for both the GLS and Athlete variants to provide better maneuverability and monitoring in tight spaces and when parking is needed.

Depending on the variant, the car will receive features such as rear seat vents, power-adjustable driver seat, wireless phone charging, dual-zone automatic climate control, USB Type A and Type C ports, cruise control, and tilt-adjustable steering wheel.

The 2024 Triton is offered with 2 turbocharged diesel engine options – a single-turbo version produces 183 PS and 430 Nm of torque, while a top-of-the-line biturbo version increases the power to 204 PS and 470 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed automatic and a manual transmission.

The range-topping Athlete variant is equipped with 7 driving modes, a dedicated electric power-assisted steering system for the variant, and the Super Select II 4WD system that allows for quick mode switching from 2H to 4H.

In terms of safety, the all-new Triton is equipped with standard airbags for the driver, front passengers, and driver’s knee, while side airbags and curtain airbags are available on the Athlete variant.

Other standard safety features include ABS and EBD, Brake Assist, Mitsubishi Active Stability and Traction Control (M-ASTC), Hill Start Assist, Trailer Stability Assist, Emergency Stop Signal, and ISOFIX child seat anchor points.

The range-topping Athlete variant comes with advanced safety features such as Hill Descent Control, Emergency Braking Assistance, Forward Collision Mitigation, Blind Spot Warning with Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and Auto High Beam.

The Mitsubishi Triton 2024 is available in the Philippines with 7 variants, starting at a base price of 1,134,000 PHP (equivalent to 20,111 USD).
