Smart Key on Honda SH
Honda Vietnam recently launched the new version of the SH 125/150i, featuring significant improvements, particularly in technology with the inclusion of the Smart Key system, a first for motorcycles manufactured in Vietnam.
The Smart Key system consists of 5 components: the FOB control device, smart key cluster, smart key control module, central processing unit, and emergency connector. This advanced key system functions by comparing the confirmation code (ID) between the FOB input device, smart key control module, and central processing unit of the motorcycle.
With this smart key technology, users can minimize the risk of unauthorized access and theft. Additionally, thanks to the unique mechanism of the electric lock button, even if someone attempts to tamper with it, the lock will remain in place.
Another advantage of this system is that the engine cannot be started by manually connecting wires. Furthermore, an additional alarm button is incorporated into the key. When activated, it emits a loud sound to alert the owner if the motorcycle is tampered with or stolen.
The system also includes a convenient feature appreciated by many users, which illuminates and emits sound to help locate the motorcycle in crowded parking lots. This function is integrated into the smart key itself.
The new version of the Honda SH 125/150i, in addition to the smart key technology, offers two new stylish and modern color options: blue-black and green-black. Compared to its predecessor, the new generation comes at a slightly higher price, starting at VND 66,990,000 for the SH 125i and VND 80,990,000 for the SH 150i.
ABS Brake on Piaggio Liberty
The anti-lock brake system (ABS), previously found only in cars, motorcycles, or large-sized scooters, has now been introduced by Piaggio Vietnam into the Liberty model, a popular scooter.
This step is considered necessary by Piaggio to keep up with competing motorcycle manufacturers who have been launching new scooters and upgraded versions in the Vietnamese market.
The introduction of ABS into the Liberty is a significant move towards ensuring rider safety. Developed in collaboration with BOSCH, this braking system is the first of its kind for a scooter produced in Vietnam.
The Liberty ABS version features a meticulously crafted braking system, including a 240mm front disc brake with Nissin pistons and a 140mm rear drum brake.
Additionally, the new Liberty is equipped with a dual-brake cable system, ensuring the throttle can always be mechanically closed, an inclination sensor that immediately shuts off the engine in the event of a fall, and a side kickstand with an anti-starting mechanism.
The Liberty ABS was launched on October 7th and is available in two versions: the standard version priced at VND 55.5 million and the sport version priced at VND 56.5 million.
