Ena Takeo, the Marketing Manager at Honda, recently revealed details about a special press event that took place just before the Tokyo Auto Show. Held at the Twin Ring Motegi race track, located outside of Tokyo, the event exclusively offered media representatives the opportunity to test-drive Honda’s BR-V, S660, and Jade RS models.
The event kicked off with an exciting demonstration of a crash test between the Honda CR-V and the Honda Jazz. Conducted at Honda’s Automobile R&D Centre on October 27, the test showcased the center’s impressive research and development capabilities with their quick response to the crash.
Adjacent to the Automobile R&D Centre is Honda’s proving ground. This one-of-a-kind testing facility enables simultaneous testing of motorcycles, cars, and energy products. It boasts a high-speed circular track for durability testing as well as various tracks for testing functions like braking and suspension, including straight, deep, special surface, wind, and motocross tracks.
During the event, a Jazz (also known as the Fit in some markets) collided with a CR-V at a speed of 60 km/h. Captivating footage of the crash test has been recorded and is available below for a firsthand evaluation of the safety features offered by these vehicles.
