According to BMW Motorrad, the R1250R is categorized as a naked sports or roadster, while the R1250RS is classified as a sports tourer. Both models feature the iconic Boxer engine, which is cooled by a combination of air and oil.
BMW Motorrad has equipped the Boxer engine with a displacement of 1,254cc, delivering a powerful performance of 136 horsepower at 7,250 rpm and a torque of 143 Nm at 6,250 rpm. The engine also incorporates variable valve timing control ShiftCam. Power is transmitted through a 6-speed gearbox and a shaft drive, enabling acceleration of over 200 km/h, all while maintaining an average fuel consumption of 4.75 liters per 100 km.
The 2023 models of BMW R1250R and R1250RS come with the Riding Modes Pro option, which provides additional riding modes. In addition to the “Road” and “Rain” modes, these models offer the “Pro” mode for dynamic engine braking control to prevent wheel hop during shifting, as well as the “Eco” mode for optimal fuel efficiency.
The BMW R1250RS 2023 model is equipped with traction control, dynamic brake control, and engine torque control. It also features LED DRL turn signal lights that can transform the R1250RS into a solo motorcycle.
Additional options available for these models include BMW Motorrad’s Option 719 accessories, as well as customizable seat height adjustment ranging from 760 mm to 840 mm, compared to the standard 820 mm. With a fully fueled 18-liter fuel tank, the R1250R weighs 239 kg, while the R1250RS weighs 243 kg.
Both the BMW R1250R and R1250RS 2023 models are equipped with a TFT-LCD display that provides essential information to the rider. The display includes a sporty feature that shows real-time cornering angle. Additionally, riders can enjoy amenities such as a 12V power outlet and a USB-A socket with 5V power, allowing them to conveniently charge their electronic devices while riding.
The BMW R1250R is available in Racing Blue and Triple Black color options, while the R1250RS offers a choice of BMW Motorrad’s Sport colors, including Lightwhite, Racing Blue, Racing Red, and Triple Black.
