Regarding the exterior, the facelift version of the Honda City features a slimmer chrome strip on the grille, which now sports a new honeycomb pattern. The front bumper has also been redesigned and now incorporates a black trim that connects the fog light cavities with the lower air intake.

Meanwhile, the LED headlights and side design of the car remain unchanged, although the 2023 City comes with newly designed alloy wheels.

At the rear, the car’s rear bumper has also been upgraded with a black faux diffuser, and the reflectors have been repositioned. Additionally, a small integrated spoiler has been added to the trunk lid.

In the Indian market, the 2023 Honda City is available in a new color called Obsidian Blue Pearl, along with existing colors such as Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic, Meteoroid Grey Metallic, and Lunar Silver Metallic.

As for the interior, there are subtle changes. The layout of the dashboard and control buttons remains mostly the same, with beige and black tones for petrol engine versions and black and ivory for hybrid versions.

Furthermore, Honda has introduced new variants to the City lineup, including the base SV version in addition to the existing V, VX, and ZX versions. The City Hybrid variant now includes an affordable V version, which replaces the ZX version.

Depending on the variant, the car’s cabin is equipped with a 7-inch color TFT screen for the instrument cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include 6 airbags, rain-sensing wipers, interior ambient lighting, wireless charging, 8 speakers, automatic air conditioning with PM2.5 fine dust filtration and rear air vents, keyless entry and ignition, power sunroof, manually adjustable rear sunshade, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

The Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance systems is available, which includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, automatic headlights, low-speed cruise control, and forward-collision warning. Additionally, the car is equipped with the Honda LaneWatch system and a range of passive safety features.

Under the hood, the facelifted Honda City no longer offers the previously available 1.5L i-DTEC turbocharged diesel engine. Instead, it is powered by the 1.5L i-VTEC gasoline engine, which delivers 121 PS at 6,600 rpm and a maximum torque of 145 Nm at 4,300 rpm. The SV version is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission, while the other engine versions (V, VX, and ZX) come with the option of a CVT transmission.

The City Hybrid 2023 combines a 1.5L i-VTEC DOHC gasoline Atkinson engine that produces 98 PS and 127 Nm of torque. This engine acts as a generator for the hybrid battery pack, which powers the electric motor attached to the wheels. The electric motor has a power output of 109 PS and a torque of 253 Nm. In total, the City Hybrid has a combined power output of 126 PS.

In addition, the City Hybrid is equipped with an electronic parking brake and rear disc brakes, instead of the mechanical handbrake and drum brakes found in the regular versions.
