In its latest appearance, the Honda CR-V 2023 test prototype is still heavily disguised. However, it is highly likely that the car will have a similar design to the global version launched last year. The differences may come from the equipment and amenities.

Previously, in March 2023, Honda Malaysia announced that they would launch four new models this year in the country, and the CR-V will be one of them. With the third quarter of the year coming to an end, it is highly likely that the new CR-V will be unveiled around the fourth quarter of 2023.

The 6th generation Honda CR-V was globally unveiled in July last year. Compared to the previous version, the new CR-V is longer and wider, providing a more spacious cabin and an additional 15mm of legroom in the rear seats.

Recently, the new Honda CR-V 2023 6th generation was officially introduced to the public in Indonesia through the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2023. In the Indonesian market, the Honda CR-V 2023 is available in two versions, the 1.5L VTEC Turbo starting at 739.9 million IDR (equivalent to 1.15 billion VND) and the 2.0L RS e:HEV priced at 799.9 million IDR (1.25 billion VND), significantly higher than the previous version.

Both versions have almost identical appearances with the same standard equipment list, including LED headlights with sequential turn signals, LED front fog lights, LED taillights, and 19-inch black alloy wheels. The premium version adds adaptive headlights, roof rails that match the car body color, an aerodynamic body kit, and contrasting black mirror caps.

The biggest difference between the two variants lies in their powertrains. Specifically, the standard version is equipped with a 1.5L inline 4-cylinder VTEC Turbo engine, generating 190 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque, combined with front-wheel drive and a CVT transmission. Meanwhile, the Honda CR-V RS is equipped with the hybrid e:HEV 2.0L powertrain, producing a maximum power of 207 horsepower and a maximum torque of 335 Nm.

Standard interior equipment includes a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9.0-inch touch screen infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and wireless charging.

The RS variant will be equipped with a Bose 12-speaker sound system, sport pedals, red stitching, and more. The advanced Honda Sensing driver assistance system is a standard feature on both variants.
