After its initial launch four years ago, Lexus has unveiled the next generation of its LM minivan line, promising an even higher level of luxury. The new LM was revealed at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show and will be available in over 60 countries, including Europe and Japan.
The latest version of the Lexus LM has received a range of upgrades, including a 50% increase in torsional rigidity compared to the previous model. Additionally, the new LM features an improved adaptive suspension system that minimizes vibrations and delivers a more comfortable and smooth ride for passengers.
Lexus has devoted significant time and resources to upgrading the interior of the 2024 LM to provide an elevated level of luxury. For example, the seating system has been meticulously designed to reduce head movements and stabilize passengers’ field of view. The front seats offer a snug fit to the body, while the second-row seats are equipped with shock-absorbing materials to minimize vibrations when the vehicle is in motion or stationary.
The new LM will be available in three configurations: 4, 6, and 7 seats. The 4-seat variant is the epitome of luxury, featuring a partition between the front and rear seats, a spacious 48-inch wide screen, a refrigerator, special storage compartments, heated armrests, and ottoman seats. Additionally, the LM boasts an advanced air conditioning system that detects the temperature of passengers’ face, chest, thighs, and feet, automatically adjusting the temperature to ensure optimal comfort.
In terms of safety features, the car is equipped with the Lexus Safety System+, which includes pre-collision warning, pre-collision braking support, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure warning, and driver attention warning.
While detailed specifications of the new LM’s powertrain have not been announced yet, Lexus has confirmed that it will offer two hybrid options: a 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine.
